Reviewed June 27, 2013

My wife and I stayed here in June 2013. The hotel is well managed and offers clean, spacious, and comfortable rooms at a great price. We were able to walk almost everywhere in Dublin in 10-15 minutes. Right outside the doorstep are several pubs, restaurants and shops, the gorgeous Christchurch Cathdral (of which our rooms had a great view) and the nearby Temple Bar nightlife district.

This hotel lost a mark for two reasons. First, its proximity to Temple Bar, while convenient for those who are night owls and like to party, means that there are many loud and drunk people coming home late from the pubs. I imagine the adjacent Kinlay House Hostel makes the problem worse. Keep in mind that Dublin, like most big cities, is always noisy. I would think every hotel in the city has this problem.

While noise outside the hotel should be expected, the second reason for the 4 rating is that the inside of the hotel can be noisy. We stayed three nights at the beginning of our trip. The hotel was perfect and would have gotten a 5. We stayed one night at the end of the trip and the hotel was noisy. The room we got was 404, right next to the elevator. The door to the elevator lobby slams shut and is very loud. So loud, that it kept waking my wife and I up throughout the night as the loud drunks came home.

All in all, we had a great experience and will be staying here again on future Dublin trips.

We arrived by bus around 6:30 AM and the staff was very welcoming and accomodating and got us into a room by 11ish. The hotel is in a great location. Right across from Christ Church and close to Dublin Castle. We walked to Trinity College and Temple Bar. Also close to bus stop. Would definitely recommend if you are staying in Dublin.

I stayed only one night in Dublin but was really pleased with my choice as this hotel is very conveniently located, in front of the Christ Church Cathedral, minutes away from Temple Bar, Dublin Castle, Grafton street, Trinity College, etc. There is a stop yards away for Airlink buses going to the airport.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The room was spacious enough for a single occupancy, spotlessly clean and rather nicely decorated. The bed was big and comfy and there were nice extra-touches (kettle and complimentary tea/coffee, fridge, hairdryer).
The adjoining (and communicating) Copper Alley Bistro offers nice substantial breakfast, which is very convenient. They also offer a free locker service to keep your luggage after you've checked out but your day in Dublin is not finished yet.
The minuses were that the room faced the back alley, facing directly another building, and was very warm, though they were two fans that helped circulate the air (but not exactly ideal to sleep with the noise they generate). Also the wi-fi signal was not strong enough to be picked up in the room, I had to use it in the reception. Apart from those two downsides, a well kept hotel at a fairly reasonable price that I would recommend for a short stay.

Clean large room. Near everything, very central. Great craic in pub at night. Would recommend to any tourists that want to be close to the city centre. The staff were friendly and helpful and we left our luggage in storage while we went out for day.

This hotel is located on the oldest street on Dublin, and it's kind staff will share anything you want to know about this ancient street or Dublin in general. The hotel is a great value considering it's location, and we slept very well in our triple traveling as a group of friends. The room is a little outdated, but the beds are comfortable and that's all that matters to me.

Excellent stay, room had view of Christchurch Cathedral. Very tidy and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. Good location for exploring Temple Bar without being in the heart of it. Quick walk to St. Patrick's Cathedral, Temple Bar, Dublin Castle, and only about 15 minute walk to Guinness Storehouse. Airlink bus stop was literally right around the corner from the entrance to the hotel. Would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: I stayed in 204, which had a view of Christchurch. It was pretty quiet.
