“Cool hidden cafe!”
Reviewed August 31, 2013

The Cake Cafe is a great hidden cafe at the back of Daintree Paper (amazing paper, stationary and wedding paper crafts shop!!) on Camden St. The menu offers lots of options for breakfast, brunch and lunch (I think they also have an evening menu). My mum loved her BLT while my aunt and I loved out fruit and plain scones! All the crockery is mis-matched which adds to the quirkiness of this lovely cafe. The cafe itself has more seats outside than inside but it's pretty sheltered so sitting outside is lovely so long as it's not lashing rain!!

“Beautiful”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

A lovely quirky cafe hidden away in Dublin. We went there as a hen party for afternoon tea, and they accommodated us really well. The food was delicious, the only complaint being that the portions were small.
We had a personalised cake made for the hen which was gorgeous :)
We had a brilliant time there, much better than afternoon tea in a posh hotel if there is a big group of you :)
Thanks Cake Cake :)

“Breakfast Heaven”
Reviewed July 31, 2013

I'm a BIG fan of the Cake Cafes breakfasts normally go early on a Saturday morning while its peaceful. The egg and soldiers are divine but last week while suffering with a little hangover i indulged in the banana and bacon on bread. it was a fantastic mix of sweet and salty. I would recommend you try!

“Little cafe, big taste”
Reviewed July 24, 2013

This place is an extraordinary little gem that is literally buried. In fact if you don't research exactly how to get to this cafe you might just give up looking for it. You can't walk directly to it because it is in an alleyway that is exclusive to that particular street. If you do happen to find the entrance you will definitely enjoy this place. Though the alleyway looks shady and there is a lot of graffiti the courtyard is like a whole different world. I would say this place is ideal for a quiet and simple breakfast. This place isn't trying to throw together the most amazing things you have ever seen. Rather, they take simple classics like porridge and cake and do them right. The porridge comes in large portions and the scones are delicious. The cakes are delightfully simple. If you have the patience to find a place that exemplifies the meanings of simple, quiet and peaceful this is definitely the place for you. The food isn't that bad either!

“I Love This Place!”
Reviewed July 23, 2013

Sandwiched between a Stationery Shop to the front and a Printers at the back is a little verdant courtyard containing The Cake Café. It is situated in an old but busy part of town - there is a third level college up the road from it so prices are kept reasonably low. The cakes are delicious. The staff are friendly and service is good. Decor is fairly retro so don't expect silver service. For me it's a little oasis which enables me to step away from the bustle for a little while.
