“More Like A Youth Hostel Than A 4 Star Hotel”

VERY Noisy, poor service, no ventilation & only partially updated. We had the pleasure of looking at dirty laundry bags outside our room door each day of our stay. Rude staff members did nothing to add to the "ambiance & experience" of a potentially true Georgian gem. Nor where they very knowledgable about their surroundings. Caveat Emptor!

I have stayed here on numerous occasions over the past two year, mainly on business. The hotel is walking distance from St. Stephen's Green and close to a number of pubs, restaurants and nightclubs(not that I have been recently!).
The staff are excellent and vey friendly and helpful.
Breakfast is excellent and daily newspapers are provided.
The rooms are spacious and comfortable.
I haven't availed of parking but I know that there is some limited availability
Great value.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back of the hotel as its on a busy street.

we were initially a bit dubious about booking this hotel after reading some reviews about the noise level. we were given a room at the front of the hotel so asked if we could be moved. the receptionist moved us to a lovely room at the back of the hotel straight away. the rooms were very clean and comfortable.
we had no complaints, had a lovely stay and will definitely be returning.

I booked two nights in the hotel. I was kept awake (6am) all night by drunken people throwing bottles, peeing in the streets and cursing. I called the front desk several times. The following night they transferred me to a room in the basement with no exit so I checked out. I was told I might be sleeping in the streets since there were limited rooms in dublin. What a joke. Not very helpful. The rooms were small and dated. There wasn't any wifi. The television was no bigger than 20in. Wouldn't stay here again

Room Tip: If you have to stay demand a room in the back not to include the basement.

The hotel is well located during daytime but if you want to sleep at night and have room 1, forget about it! We were in Dublin to see a concert. We asked for a quiet room but had room 1 which is right beside reception and at pavement level. Amazingly, the receptionist gave my wife and I pairs of earplugs!! I've stayed in many hotels round the world and that is the first time I've ever been given earplugs! Nice room, bed good, pillow really hard, bathroom good, shower good, all clean, breakfast good. However, what wasn't clear until later was that there are night clubs in every direction and for the Wednesday night we were there, the racket of people in the street was pretty loud...despite the secondary glazing. Oh...and the tram goes right past the window as well! The building is floodlit at night but the curtains to room 1 are not blackout, so if you can't sleep in a light room, it makes it even worse! So a real shame ...the hotel is otherwise Ok. We were only staying one night and our rock concert was so fantastic that we just shrugged and took the awful night as part of our experience...and will look back with a chuckle at being given earplugs!!

Room Tip: Not room 1 or 2. Don't have a room facing the road

My wife and I stayed for 1 night , thank goodness . The hotel has a great location for central Dublin , but the street is a bad location for a nights sleep. There are 5 night clubs and even though we were top floor and at the rear , the sound still came through . Now it was a Wednesday and we thought we might be ok , as we have stayed in this street (Hardcourt St.) on a Friday, and we thought never again , but definitely never again. The hotel was freshly painted and clean room and overall a clean hotel.
If I was 30 years again then I would stay out until 4pm and think great hotel, getting to bed when the music stopped.
Breakfast was fine for the B/B rate of €104 we paid.
So ,for the young or bring your own ear defenders.
5 minutes walk from Grafton st, the famous shopping street.

This charming Georgian style hotel was perfect for our short stay in Dublin. The staff were very friendly and helpful. However, we had a room at the front of the building which overlooked the road and tram lines which seemed to roll past the window all night! There's also a couple of nightclubs opposite which wouldn't help the level of noise. It's a shame as the rest of the hotel is lovely.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back of the hotel to minimise noise at night.
