“Where the deer and the antelopes play, well the deer at least.”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

The "park" as it is known to all Dubliners in the largest "city" Park in Europe of more than 550 acres. It is home to the President of Ireland, The Zoo, Garda HQ, The US Ambassador's Official Residence as well as Farmleigh, once the home of the Earl of Iveagh of the Guinness Family, and owned by the Irish Government and used to entertain and on occasions house visiting heads of State or visiting Political Heads of Governments. There are many sporting events that take place in the "park" such as polo, cricket, soccer and Gaelic games. The "Park" is also where two Popes came, on two separate visits, and gave "mass" to over 1m pilgrims and there remains a Papal Cross to mark the spot!

“A beautiful spot”
Reviewed May 27, 2014

This is a truly beautiful park. The Wellington Monument is breath taking, and we saw many deer roaming in the park when we were there. Obviously, the park is well appreciated by the residents of Dublin because we saw many families walking, biking, and taking advantage of the peaceful atmosphere in the park. A nice place for a picnic!
