Being from Dublin originally, the Phoenix Park was my extended back garden, from the Polo Grounds to the Zoo, the Furry Glen to the People's Garden's, at one point we knew each and every nook and cranny of the park. It's seen it's changes over the years, but nothing can delight like the vision of a roaming deer herd on the river side, behind the Wellington Monument and the duck ponds in the Furry Glen and People's Gardens are still a delight to children, including my own.

Phoenix Park is a lovely, relaxing green space in the heart of Dublin. It is also the home of Dublin Zoo. You can stroll on tarmac or grass, photograph the deer population, see the Wellington Monument and/or The Papal Cross. It has shady trees to sit under in the Summer and a 'blow the cobwebs away' breeze in the winter. It is a park for all seasons and a must see when you visit Dublin.

It was abundant in history and beautiful. We rode the hope and off bus and it was green and vibrant. The zoo is located within the park.

Fresh air in the centre of a city. Plenty of wild wife to see. Hire a bike inside the gate its takes a while to do the park
