This guesthouse is perfectly situated to see all the sites of Dublin, easy walking distance to most and good public transport links everywhere else. The staff are extremely helpful, the rooms are adequate and clean, the breakfast is great and the price is more than fair. All in all I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Dublin, had a great stay there and definately booking again next time in Dublin..

We stayed in room 110 on the ground floor at the rear, The room was well proportioned modern, clean & well up to the standard of most 3 or 4 star hotels. Having read reports that the heating & breakfasts were not up to much we were nervous, but our experience could not have been more different. The place was well heated the breakfast was excellent & the staff were friendly. We will definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Rear ground floor rooms 109 & 110 are excellent

My first impression was the warm friendly atmosphere that you feel from the minute you enter the Hotel. The reception area was bright & clean. The receptionists were very friendly, helpful and made you feel that your visit and comfort was very important to them, you did not feel like just another guest, you were made to feel very welcome. Perfect location and comfortable rooms.

Ideal location downtown, Great rates, Free wifi, very helpfull Staff, Clean rooms, very well heated, Bath tub in the bathroom.
Deco looked a little bit old, but I guess that goes with the History of the building.

Room Tip: Rooms downstairs might be a bit noisier cause of the hotel's laundry service on that same floor.

We stayed in this really reasonable Guesthouse for one night and would highly recommend for a short visit. Perfectly located for many of the city's sightseeing areas. the Luas, O2 and also, bus tours of the countryside can also be booked by the guesthouse. We parked in Clerys-a few minutes walk away and used our feet from then on! Our room was airy, as good as any hotel we've stayed in. Clean, airy and away from noise! The staff were very friendly. Breakfast was a choice of juice, fruit salad and cereals, or a hot Irish breakfast -perfect to start the day. One small bit of advice (for us 'older' visitors!)-be aware of the slightly uneven floors of these older buildings. There are plenty of signs warning of this. Adds to the ambiance actually! Enjoy your stay!

Room Tip: We had a great room (218), at the back of the Guestroom.

Do not stay there! Guesthouse smells really bad. The rooms are unacceptable. In our first room we weren't able to open the windows at all. In our second room we couldn't close the window properly. Doors didn't lock properly, we felt like people could walk into the room with no problems. Our shower was broken. No soap, no hair dryer.
Breakfast was awful.
very dated hotel, just do not stay here. it's not worth the money.

We stayed at the Charles Steward guesthouse over the new year period (12 - 13). It s a huge guesthouse, more like a hotel.
We stayed on the 3rd floor, it was lovely & warm (we slept with the window open both nights).
We had a full bathroom, including bath & shower, clean hotels both days we stayed.
Tea & coffee makinf facitilities & the receptionist was only to happy to provide us with more supplies!!
The bed was very clean & comfortable, there was also free wi fi!!
Only one slight negative, the flush on the toilet sounded as thought there was a large ship coming in to dock, I heard other rooms occasionally as well, It did make me laugh, but it stopped when the cold tap was run - prob just an air lock!
Staff were really welcoming & friendly too, will definately stay here when I am next in Dublin.

Room Tip: 3rd floor, nice & quiet.
