“Got what we wanted”
Reviewed October 15, 2013 via mobile

We wanted to be close to the temple bar district - we were in it.

We wanted somewhere cheap with free breakfast - we got it

We wanted our own room with no shared bathroom - we had that.

The beds where bunk beds, the bathroom was a positive surprise, there were plenty of the breakfast and the staff was very friendly and welcoming.

I'd stay there again.

Planned a girls night in Dublin 3 years ago short notice, and needed somewhere cheap to stay. Came across this place and though ok, for a private room for people and only 20 Euro each, worth a shot and wasnt expecting luxury. Ive now stayed there the last few times Ive been there, its AMAZING!!! Great pub downstairs, you get a free welcome pack with a free drink and club entry, bang in the middle of Temple Bar...I even brought friends over from London for my 30th to stay there (a few who were scared at the thought of staying in a hostel) and they loved it too. The beds are comfy, shower is lovely and hot, place so clean, friendly staff and 24 hour reception, 2 euro a towel so you dont have to bulk up your suitcase, plugs for straightners, mirrors for make up....seriously, this place will make your stay in Dublin convienient, safe, and deffo one to remember. Get to meet interesting people there too! Actually looking forward to the next time I can stay!

Room Tip: Get in first so you dont get a top bunk bed if your lazy like me :)

I have been to Dublin several times and am never disappointed when I pop in for a pint and some food while listening to musicians.

Located on Fleet Street in Temple Bar, Gogarty's is a fun place to visit.

The prices are a little steep. But it is Temple Bar, a big tourist attraction.

Although the location is prime, right in the heart of Temple Bar, and the employees are friendly and helpful, we were definitely disappointed in the room we got. We had booked an apartment, but ended up with a dorm room. Two bunk beds and a private bathroom was not what was advertised. And you couldn't tell there was glass in the windows once the music from the bar started. We never did get a good night's sleep, especially after the pubs closed and other folks came back to their rooms (hint to other travelers ... moving furniture at 3:00 am is NOT cool). The breakfast was adequate, the use of the kitchen was an added bonus. WiFi doesn't necessarily reach all the way to the top floors, so you might have to use it in the common areas. There are only 2 TV's in the whole place, one in the breakfast room and one in the common room. We could not figure out how to get more than one channel, so if you depend on television for anything you will be disappointed. To wrap up, great location, very loud, may not get the room you booked. Okay for one or two nights, as long as the people above you remember that other people are living in the place.

Room Tip: You don't want a room with a window overlooking the pub's courtyard. You'll get very li...

Stayed here a while back. Great location. The hostel is right on top of the pub. Gets pretty challenging climbing up all those stairs at closing time. On the second day I walked into my room and here were 3 scottish roomates. We ended up becoming good friends and ended up partying at the pub all night along.

We stayed mid week in a 3 bedroom apartment which was surprisingly roomy with 3 twin bedrooms, 2 toilets with showers (plenty loo rolls and toiletries) lounge, dining area and kitchen which was well equipped with crockery, washing up stuff and a big bag of ice in the freezer :) Balcony off the lounge with furniture and 2 of the bedrooms had small balconies. Apartment was clean with nice crisp bed linens and towels and was warm and cosy with the heating on which was great when we made it back late at night with the recent temperature drop!
Staff were friendly and helpful, giving directions and storing our luggage for a few hours once we had checked out to save us lugging it around the cobbled streets :)
It does get noisy around Temple Bar and the party carries on late into the night, but for us that is all part of the attraction!

Room Tip: Would recommend room 6 (3 twin beds)
