Grafton Street is a gathering place for the tourists in Dublin. The stores you find in mall across the states are all there. The thing to do is find a pub and have a meal. The rest is pretty benign.

Commercial area, but a fun place to just wander about. Some great shops for those so inclined, but the real highlight for me were all the street musicians. All ages, all types of music - really wonderful. Then there are the performance artists, pubs and restaurants. Add in the people watching factor and you just can have a great few hours experiencing this aspect of downtown Dublin. Worth a walkthrough or just hanging out for a bit. Though the crowds can be dense, it's just a lively, fun place.

The streets are closed to all but delivery traffic. You can take a stroller, but it may get tricky getting it through the crowds. People were very friendly in general.

This area is a little too "posh" for my tastes but there is nothing more enchanting than walking down a pretty pedestrian street while listening to talented musicians play a soundtrack to your walk. This is a big part of what I love about Dublin and worth a walk down the street.

We enjoyed the atmosphere of this street and the people watching was good, however if you are looking for a touch of traditional Irish shopping, its not here. Aside from a few souvenir shops, there are only brand name, commercial shops that can be found in most malls or major cities. We were disappointed as we were looking for more quaint and traditional shopping.

Strolled up through Grafton Street to see what it was all about. Many street performers throughout singing & dancing for charity. Real pleasant atmosphere. Shops mostly mainstream but a few traditional Irish shops with genuinely nice locals. Good place for shopping & a hot chocolate.
