We dropped in on the first night of our visit and what was planned as a quick visit ended up as a full evening.
The atmosphere was great and the Guinness was as good as I'd hoped!
The music was excellent and the choice of food was varied with both traditional and more modern items.
We really enjoyed our visit and can't wait to return.

Well, if you're in Dublin, you must go here. Try to get a spot near the main music area. It sounds like they just about always have live music. The drinks aren't the cheapest, probably mid/upper average, but totally worth it for the environment.
The temple bar pub is just a part of the temple bar area.

Nice pub in central location.
Unusual layout with little snugs and corners - so we managed to find seats no problem. Nice atmosphere but music was not as good as elsewhere - singers badly out of tune and songs choices abit obvious.
Excellent whiskey selection which boasts over 300 varieties - but didnt have two standard whiskey choices when asked..... BUT.... bar staff did recommend a good substitute - so their knowledge cant be critised - albeit the bar bill nearly pulled my eyes out.
Would visit again but will stick to a pint next time

3 / 5 stars is pretty harsh - if there were 3.5 it's be that but never a 4*!

Over priced drinks, not bad atmosphere with live music but there should be saw dust on the floor!!

The longer you stay the better it gets (booze helps!) and if you're lucky enough to get a seat then it's better but off the beaten track there are far better pubs and bars.

Enough said!

Of course when visiting Dublin, you have to visit Temple Bar Pub. I'm so glad we did. It was fun, and the beer of course, was great! The brightness of the place really stands out on a street of beautiful buildings.
