Owner description: A magnificent cathedral that houses Jonathan Swift's remains (he wrote Gulliver's Travels). It is the only remaining cathedral in Ireland with a daily sung services. A small entrance fee is charged for tourists and all money raised goes back to paying for the upkeep of the building.

“Confused”
Reviewed February 11, 2013

From the outside the grounds and cathedral are impressive and well maintained. On the inside while the building and in particular the stained glass windows are equally impressive I was a bit confused by all the flags and plaques commemorating wars and powerful people. The gift shop seems a little out of place too. In some ways there seems to be more focus on war, power and money than anything religous. It is incredible to think that this building is over 800 years old though. Go and make up your own mind its just a short walk from the city centre. I didn't mind the small cover charge as I appreciate the costs of upkeep must be huge.

“Very nice”
Reviewed February 6, 2013

It's a beautiful church and the garden with the fountain outside is quite lovely, but much like Christ Church, I really felt like it had lost much of its reverence. I did enjoy seeing the grave of Jonothan Swift's servant, though :)

When a visitor has done a little research on St. Pat's, to visit is a truly wonderful experience. Listen to sound recordings preformed there. Amazing.
