“Excellent Student-Led Tour”
Reviewed November 19, 2013

I highly recommend the student-led tours of Trinity College, Dublin, which cost 10 euros and include admission to the Old Library and the Book of Kells. My guide, James, was charming, knowledgeable, and shared many interesting anecdotes from the college's past (various misfortunes that have befallen the dining hall, when two students shot and killed a college official, etc.).

“An oasis in the heart of the city”
Reviewed November 18, 2013 via mobile

Wandering around Trinity's campus is a wonderful architectural trip through the different ages of a Dublin institution. Buildings from the 18th and 21st centuries reflect the living culture of the campus. Also, nothing beats a Summer's afternoon sitting beside the cricket pitch with a cold pint from the Pav.

“Very Interesting”
Reviewed November 15, 2013

I enjoyed seeing the Book of Kells & going up stairs into the library. The Old Library is awesome, something not to miss. The campus was very neat with the old buildings. Glad this was one of the stops on our CIE Tour.

Reviewed November 11, 2013

I visited the Book of Kells many years ago when it was in the Old Library and you queued up to file past. now it is all up market and no real queue so people hog the glass case for ages and others have difficulty seeing it

“Rich in history -- a must see when visiting Dublin”
Reviewed November 11, 2013

This is a must see stop on your visit to Dublin. The college tour is about 30 minutes and is combined with tickets to the Book of Kells and the Long Room Library. College students give the tours of the campus and highlights four major historical squares on the campus and a brief campus history. Our Rick Steve's guide book said that the college has longer tours as well, but on the day we were there, only the short version was available. The college guides are witty and informative and will take time to answer any questions you may have. Once the tour is over, you queue up for the Book of Kells. Sometimes waits are very long to get into see the Book of Kells. On the Sunday we visited, we only waited for about 10 minutes so we lucked out. If you enter from the main gate, just walk straight back through the arch and there will be a small podium where you can buy your tickets for the tour. If you want to use a credit card, allow enough time to buy your tickets at the bookstore. The kiosk can only accept cash.
