Owner description: The building facade of Trinity College is among many constructed since the foundation of the College on March 13th, 1592. The design is attributed to Theodore Jacobsen, a London-based amateur architect, with the collaboration of Henry Keene and John Sanderson.

Enjoyed the trip, a little crouded, but you can take as long as you like to view the exhibits. Was surprised that there are more books on view as well as the book of kells

But this one is really great! The college is older than we Americans can envision, I think started in 1592, and is very proud of the education it provides. You don't have to do a guided tour, but I do recommend it. It's only about 30 minutes long, but the guide is also a student who wears a unique robe, based on his/her status at the college (graduate, school, etc). My guide, Jamey, was very funny, but we learned a lot as well.

The Long Room is here, and has that old book smell the minute you walk in (which, frankly is worth your time, because the smell of old books is just so heady!) Also, the Book of Kells is here, along w/ other old documents from the Bible.

You can't take pictures in the Long Room or the Book of Kells, but sometimes the best photos are those that stay in your memory.

The lead-up to the exhibit was most informative and complete and the Book itself was unforgettable. I regret that high cost of admission but it certainly was the highlight of our tour of Ireland.

what to say? i think it is the best (and maybe the only one worth it if you are short of time). The Long Room is not easily forgotten
