I know Myos well, have eaten there many times and was back again today with my sister. Having a meal is always a pleasure in Myos. The food is first rate and the staff are wonderful - friendly, chatty and efficient. The Chef, Les, resplendent in his tall hat, certainly knows how to cook and carve food, and is always happy to cater for your every need and to dish up lavish meals. His Roast Beef is the very best I have ever had ANYWHERE! He even very kindly gave me the secret of this perfection, but that's my secret now!
As is usual in Myos, there was a good and varied Menu today. The Homemade Veg. Soup was appetizing @ €3.95. The Main Courses mostly came in at €9.95, viz. Crown of Turkey, Chicken Curry with Rice, Baked Ham, Irish Stew, or Chicken Maryland. My delicious Roast Beef was €10.95. These were all ready to be dished up, happily assisted today by Patricia, herself a little gem for whom nothing is too much trouble. Thank you, Patricia! In the "Cooked to Order" section of the Menu @ €10.95, one could have Battered Fresh Cod or Golden Fried Scampi. There were Roast and Mashed Potatoes, Carrots, Cabbage and Peas as accompaniments. The portions are large, but if one wishes, they may have a half-portion (in itself quite large!) @ €7.50. The Chips, which accompanied my sister's Scampi, looked SO VERY INVITING, sprinkled with the vinegar. The other sauces are provided separately of course - the Horseradish, Cranberry etc. For a good meal, those prices are not exorbitant nowadays. Look elsewhere or comparison and you'll agree I think.
We did not have Dessert today, but there is usually a selection of items such as Apple Pie with Cream/and/or Icecream; Chocolate Cake, Bakewell Tart perhaps, and an Icecream Dish.
All during this Spring they had excellent Special Offers in Myos: for example on certain days one could have the Full Meal at the Half-portion Rate and on other days two Full Meals for the price of One! There are "Regulars" in Myos, which speaks for itself, but in general their patrons leave well satisfied. In the colder weather, a lovely fire glows and the customers can enjoy watching the Races, the Golf, the Match etc. on the large T.V.
I love visiting Myos and look forward to my next Outing.
