“Guinness and Beef Stew”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2010

This is the oldest pub in Ireland. The pub is busy with locals and travellers alike, the atmosphere is friendly with tons of parapheralia and memorabelia throughout. Service was good, Guinness was the best and the Beef and Guninness Stew was incredible.

“Don't miss this Pub”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 11, 2010

Didn't plan on eating here but got a recomendation from a local and it was well worth it. We weren't the only "tourist" there but it had a real authentic feel. Staff and food were terrific.

“Tourist trap! Burnt food...”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 6, 2010

The food and dining experience must be the biggest tourist trap in Ireland (Europe).

We had reserved Irish diner for 28 persons, and was served a Greek salad with olives and feta cheese. Irish stew for main course was burned.... Mashed potatoes on top looked and tasted like tennis balls. Felt like a “factory dining” since the waiters tried to clear our plates halfway through every course. Beverages were served after the Greek salad was at the table, and we had to ask 3 times if we please could have some more to drink.
I will never recommend this pub regarding eating!!

“The night was saved by the entertainment!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 30, 2010

The service and food were average, however we attended the evening of food, folk and faires, which was brilliant. If it hadnt been for Phillip and the wonderful stories he told, the night would not have been half as sucessful. The food was OK at best, the drink was reasonably priced and the service was adequate but not too pleasant or helpful to be honest and the food was NOT reasonably priced at all! Thank God for Phillip and his ability to host and entertain the night!
