I was intrigued to see the oldest pub in Ireland, but that's all it was. The service was horrendous. I had to ask twice for someone to take our order for drinks, never mind food. This was after sitting there for 20 minutes with nothing on the table. Would have been nice to have at least a drink while we waited. In my opinion, they are so used to not receiving a tip that they do not bother to treat anyone half way decent thinking no one will give them a tip, anyway. Well, we treated every person in Ireland with the same respect as we do in the US by giving at least 20%, except this place. This is the end result of when you assume there will not be a tip.

Sandwich was decent and it was interesting to see all the money pasted on the walls along with all the history over the years, but I won't go back. By the way, no, they were not busy, either. There were 4 other people and they were ignored just as much as we were.

Had to give this place a look - since it's over 800 years old. Place was a little crowded but our server found us a comfy nook. Had the mussels. They were fresh and the broth was fabulous. Great service. They were out of some of the whiskeys I was interesed in trying, but Jameson is not a bad backup. Of course, the Guinness was grand.

Excellent. Highly recommended. Had a fantastic and entertaining night with my family. The food was very good and so was the live music and singing provided by an Irish couple. The story telling by Helena was absolutely excellent, very professional. Enjoyed every minute.

our hostess, Helena, entertained us with stories of the way of life for the common people and folklore. Much of the history is very sad and makes you wonder how the Irish can be so much fun. She sang at times, and 2 musicians also entertained. 3 courses were served over the night - typical Irish fare and quite tasty. We shared our table with 6 other travelers and really enjoyed their company.
