This hotel is in a great location - The bus stop to & from the airport is just around the corner. Its close to bars & restaurants, Dublin castle & river Liffy a couple of mins walk. Only trouble is the night club with music thumping away all night on fri & sat night. Dont stay here if you want a quiet night, its best to go out & join in with it all. The room was nicely decorated but a little tired in place & not very clean. (dusty, net curtains yellow & lamp shade cracked). Staff were helpful most of the time. Having found our safe didn't work as it had no batteries in the back i phoned reception who said he couldn't do anything about it... I suggested it only needed new batteries but he wasn't having any of it. Coming back to our room the following afternoon i found another safe had been fitted on top of the old on! Im sure putting batteries in the old one would've been easier but never mind this one worked. Overall this hotels best selling point is its in a good area for tourists.

A fabulously located hotel with very friendly staff. We were unable to turn off the heating in the bathroom and there is no airconditioning. Our choice at night was keep the window closed and cook, or leave the window open and be kept awake by the noises outside. Would I use this hotel again? Yes but I would ask for room away from the road or take earplugs.

Coming from the US, this is a great place to chill out on day one. We are loath to go straight from flight to rental car, so on recent trips have stayed here. Temple Bar can be noisy but here you're on the fringe of it. The advantage is being so centrally located to what Dublin has to offer. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We arrived early in the day this visit and they found us a room straightaway.

Room Tip: Inner rooms have less noise.

This was my 3rd stay at Paramount - all three times I have been happy with the room, the staff, the location of each room. In fact, I've been more than happy. The rooms are comfortable, large, and quiet. The beds are large and comfortable. And the windows are open - yes, fresh air in a city! I love being in Templebar, but I also love a good night's sleep - and at this location, between the River Liffey and Dublin City Hall, you can walk to all the pubs and shops and still be just enough on the edge of the nightlife to get a peaceful sleep. The staff is friendly and helpful. The only draw back if you want to call it that - is knowing the hotel's address as more than one taxi driver doesn't have a clue about the hotel's location. It's not hard to remember if you're conscious of the street address, but a real pain in the neck if you don't (so just do). I'll definitely be back next summer (2014). Oh, and did I say, the price is right.

Our group of seven which was made up of four adults ages 55-60, and three college students ages 19-21 stayed here for three nights in August.

Location - This is a great place to stay in the center of Dublin (Temple Bar). It is easy to get to and from and to see the main tourist sights. It is less than five minute walk to Dublin Castle. There are lots of pubs and restaurants within five minutes walking.

Rooms - Small like in most European cities, but very clean. Beds are either Double or two Twins side-by-side.

Bathroom - Ensuite with tub/shower, excellent water pressure and plenty of hot water! Very important for me.

Wi-Fi – Free in room and public areas. However some rooms have poor or no reception because of their location.

Air Conditioning – None, this is common in most of Ireland unless you stay in 5 Star Hotels like Hilton or Marriott.

Price – Very reasonable

Noise - Street noise is very bad, especially on weekends, as many other reviewers have mentioned. So unless you are going to be out all night until 3AM yourself in my opinion this is probably not the hotel for you. For sure do not get a room on below the 4th floor facing out in the street above the bar. The noise from the bar and street beneath you will keep you awake until at least 3AM. There is no air conditioning, so in the summer you have to have your windows open for fresh air. We had to eventually close our windows but still the noise is still unbearable, even with ear plugs in. I too wonder how the hotel reception determines who gets the rooms on the lower 3 floors and suspect it is based on the price you paid (in other words if you used sites like HotWire, or Booking.com like we did you pay less but you get what you pay for). I would not stay in this hotel again, if I did it would only be if I knew for sure I could get a room that was on the top floor and away from the bar. If you really want to have a place that's quiet, I would not stay anywhere in the Temple Bar area as I am quite certain the bar and street noise is the same for any of these budget hotels in the area.

We had only one other issue and that was the first night the fire alarm went off very briefly only for a few seconds, enough to wake us up, but that was not the problem. The next morning at breakfast when we were discussing the noise and the alarm, the couple in one room mentioned they did not hear the alarm at all. We reported this to the front desk and the employees did not seem concerned about it. That afternoon when we returned from seeing the sights our friends went to their room to drop stuff off and could smell the strong odor of marijuana, they reported this too, at the front desk before we went out to dinner. The management said they would send someone up to check it out. We came back several hours later you could still smell the marijuana as strong as before. We again let the front desk know and they said it was just a musty smell from the carpets. It was not… We suspect some of the staff use that room (311) as a smoking room because they know the smoke alarm does not work in the room…. Just our opinion but it did bother us that the management did not take our complaints seriously at all. They did offer to move the couple to a room on the first floor but we declined as it would have been even nosier.

Room Tip: Ask for a higher room facing the courtyard. Make sure the room as Wi-Fi access if that is important...

We stayed three nights in this hotel. It is conveniently located close to restaurants, bars and public transport. The River Liffey is close by. The staff on reception were friendly, courteous and helpful in providing advice on transport and restaurants. Our room on the third floor was clean, comfortable and quiet. It faced an inner courtyard away from the street. We had full breakfasts in the hotel , served up by friendly staff. Its close proximity to public transport: buses and the Luas Tram meant that you could get around Dublin on public transport only ,but taxis are available for longer trips. We were not aware of a fitness center or spa .We would have no hesitation in staying here again

Room Tip: try for a higher room facing the courtyard

Really a nice find. Great brew pub across the street. Happening area. Noisy, but that did not bother us. It was hot and we had the windows open, but this did not keep us awake. I understand how some could have a problem with this. Temple Bar is in right here.
Good location. Trinity College is about a half mile away. American Laundry was close. And we took the public bus to the airport from the bus stop on the corner. Very helpful reception.

Room Tip: If noise is a problem and you are a light sleeper get a room that does face Temple Bar area. We enj...
