Description: Steeped in history, Oil Can Harry’s has been as much an attraction as it has been a busy traditional Irish pub serving only the finest food and drink in the heart of Dublin’s fair city for over 100 years. The list of regular customers over the last 100 years is as long as it is distinguished, including Generals, Statesmen, Writers, Poets and the odd Rock Star all mixing freely with local faces. Today is Oil Can Harry’s serves a full food menu for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner along with a huge range of traditional brews, craft beers, Irish whiskeys and an extensive wine list. We are also delighted to offer a range of set menus and group hospitality packages for larger groups wishing to visit us. Groups for Corporate Hospitality, Private Functions or Aviva Stadium Events will be well looked after here with us in one of Dublin’s most unique venues. And of course you can expect all the live sporting action on our various Big Screens throughout the building.

“Food not really very good”
Reviewed July 2, 2014

We went to this bar after reading good reviews on trip advisor. The waitress that greated us was nice but said that the chef was leaving in 10 mins so if we wanted food we would have to order right away. I was unsure but thought we would give it a go. I ordered the fish and chips and it came very fast so was obviously previously cooked and refried which would account for the fact that it batter was hard as rock and the fish in size tough. It was also the size of a large fish finger which was not really good value for 15.95 Euro!! Anyway really I should have sent it back but I was very hungry so chewed my way through it. The chips were regular frozen ones that were at least edible. Anyway when the waitress asked if everything was ok I said about the fish not being good. She apologised but didn't take anything off the bill or even offer a free drink. I would not recommend this place at all, there are much better places to eat for the same price. I will add however that my husband had the irish stew with mash potatoes and said it was very nice.

“Decent Pub”
Reviewed June 22, 2014

I came across this pub by accident. Decent prices for Dublin and lots of sport screens if you like that sort of thing. A lot of Scottish rugby supporters were in town for a game and they were friendly and chatty. Not so many locals and it seemed quiet for a Saturday night.

“Fantastic Pub Meal”
Reviewed June 11, 2014 via mobile

We had dinner at Oil Can Harry's after a long day of sightseeing. What a great experience. Great traditional pub fare with outstanding service. Two of us had the fish and chips; one of us the Irish stew; and one the soup of the day. All portions were generous and the food was great. A nice pub atmosphere in a non-touristy setting. I highly recommend.

“Great atmosphere!”
Reviewed May 30, 2014

The staff was very friendly. For road weary travelers most pubs seemed obnoxiously busy with wait staff less eager to help, but not this place! They were very busy (very) but all of the staff were kind, personable and did not nake you feel as if you were an inconvenience. This pub is the kind of place you would want down the street from wherever you worked/lived.
