Description: Brazil is the largest and most populous country in South America. Almost as if to complement its exciting geographical contrasts, from wetlands to tropical forest to beaches, it also boasts an incredible multi-ethnic mix, which is mirrored in its cuisine. The indigenous Tupi Indians had already mastered the art of preserving meats through smoking and drying by the time the Portuguese colonised Brazil in 1533. They had developed the use and processing of Corn (in particular Corn Porridge) as well as the use of many root vegetables such as sweet potato and manioc (also known as yucca or cassava ).Not only did the Portuguese bring with them their own culinary customs (heavily influenced by 300 years of Moorish occupation) but they also imported slaves from West Africa with their cooking traditions. The use of coconut milk, peppers and dende (palm oil) are amongst the many ideas introduced by the slaves, all of which are prevalent in Brazilian cooking. Many more immigrants followed later, including Western Europeans, peoples from the Middle East and Asia, but unlike the Portuguese and African traditions, their culinary contributions were absorbed rather than evolved. As with many other large countries, Brazilian cuisine has its regional differences, although staple ingredients throughout Brazil today include beans, rice and manioc meal. To the North (includes Amazonas, Rondônia and Pará), the diet is mainly fish, root vegetables and fruit as opposed to the Southeast where the use of corn, pork and beans is traditional. Our restaurant is based in a small baroque city of Ouro Preto (from Portuguese, Black Gold) is a city in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil, a former colonial mining town located in the Serra do Espinhaço mountains and designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO because of its outstanding Baroque architecture. A different and enjoyable option for a FINE DINING Brazilian Restaurant. A cozy atmosphere for pleasant moments with friends and partners. Excellent food and proud to show our diverse culinary dishes to europeans.

“Best Restaurant in Dublin”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 29, 2013 via mobile

Brought hubby here for his birthday and without doubt this is now my favourite restaurant! I concur with all previous comments. Customer service is alive and well in Dublin! Food is sublime and those cocktails are to die for! Everything about the place is brilliant - from the minute we walked in we were referred to by our name, Tom, Daniel and Lou explained every course to us and introduced us to the restaurant itself by giving us a little geography lesson! Well worth the money and I will definitely return. Amazing.

“Top class”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 26, 2013

Dined here as a special treat for our 5th wedding anniversary. Even when making the booking by telephone, it was handled in a such professional manner.

On arrival it was great to be greeted by name by Tom. The service provided by Tom and the other staff was something that we have rarely seen before.

Each course of food was explained and was top quality. Some of the best tasting dishes that I have ever had. Marco and Tom make this dining experience extra special.

It was also one of the most relaxed settings to eat in. Would definately recommend to anyone.

“A wonderful experience.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 23, 2013

I was brought to Sabor Brazil for my birthday as were two other people in the restaurant that night. It was a lovely experience. The food was lovely but the service was the show stopper for me. Everybody with immaculately presented, white shirts been snow white, bibs and table clothes the same. Everybody remembered your name, which was a lovely touch. The waiters were all attentive. The ambiance was lovely with gentle music, lovely candles fresh flowers and clean. They were also very generous with the wine. I really enjoyed the experience and it is one to save for a special occasion and take your ease at it. Thanks.

“Good but not the best in Dublin”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 22, 2013

We recently had our second visit to Sabor Brazil. While the dining room is very cute and the service charming and very personal, the food is not 5 star in terms of presentation or cooking skills. Nonetheless, it is still a nice restaurant but certainly not the best in Dublin - not by a long shot.
