I love seeing cities while biking and Dublin is no exception, and the guide Cian certainly added to that experience with great storytelling and selection of sights. My friend and I were lucky enough to be the only people on the tour that day. So we asked lots and lots of questions and got lots of great answers.

The bikes were great and we got helmets too.

We made a stop at a great pub with an open fire which made the tour extra special.

After the tour Cian gave us some great tips and we followed several of them.

This bike tour is something I would really recommend as a way to get a feel for Dublin. I was impressed by the extremely adjustable and good quality bikes, and by the fact that safety was paramount (helmets were provided). Our leader, Bryan, was extremely knowledgeable and well-spoken about Irish history and culture. He took us on a tour of much of the central part of the city, beginning north of the Liffey and proceeding south to the Grand Canal by several highlights such as the birthplaces of George Bernard Shaw and Oscar Wilde, St Patrick's Cathedral, Dublin Castle, the Jewish Quarter, Merrion Square and the original recording studio of U2. Our group consisted of only 7 participants, and for much of the time we were on bike paths and quiet streets. Where it was necessary to ride in heavier traffic, Bryan took care to watch for our safety. The pace was easy, and breaks were taken often, both for discussion and for sustenance. Bryan was also an excellent resource for planning the rest of our visit in the city, being able to suggest good places to eat and things to do.

One of the funnest things we did in Ireland. Brian, our guide, was fun, friendly and had lots of information to share. We got to see places that we likely would not have if not on the bikes with a guide. The ride was easy as well as exhillarating through a short place of high traffic. After the ride, he mapped out our route for us and then pointed out good places to eat, nightlife and a prefect pint of Guinness that were not necessarily a tourist hot spot. We highly recommend.

This is a absolute must as soon as you get to Dublin! Cian and Brian are fun and knowledgeable young men, very approachable and friendly. Welcoming to all ages and abilities and looked after us well during the bike tour. Light-hearted but very informative regarding Dublin's history, delivered in an engaging manner. Bikes were easy to use, very good condition - all the bikes are named after famous Irish characters which fits in well with the content of the tour. Truly enjoyable!

Except for the month prior to departure, I hadn't ridden a bike in about 35 yrs, so I was a bit nervous about doing a bike tour, in a large city (all those cars!) and riding on the opposite side than what I'm accustomed to.

But I needn't have worried. First, you meet at Isaac's Hostel, and thank you to the person who mentioned it was near train tracks (that helped me locate it better.) Then it's a short walk to where the bikes are stored.

Our guide was Cian who fitted us for bikes, got us safety straps and helmets. A little practice in the parking lot, then off we went!

Cian really puts his personality into the 3 hours, making the information interesting and memorable. He's also very attentive to those with special needs (clearing throat). :)

This is certainly not the Tour de France, but it's a great way to exercise, see the city, and have some fun. I'm returning to Dublin in June and will definitely do this again.
