“Great Stay in Dublin!”
Reviewed June 29, 2013

We spent two nights at the Oaklodge and enjoyed every minute of it. Teresa is a wonderful host and is very helpful. We had a little bit of trouble finding the house (our GPS wasn't working), but every time we called Teresa for further directions, she was very patient and descriptive. The rooms at the Oaklodge were clean, beautifully decorated, spacious, had very comfortable beds, and had a very modern bathroom. The breakfast every morning was absolutely delicious and had great options to accommodate everyone. If you are in Dublin, I would highly recommend staying at this B&B!

We enjoyed our stay here for two nights. Theresa was a wonderful host. The street was fairly busy during the day, but it was quieter in the evening. The rooms are beautifully decorated and comfortable. The room we had was spacious and we didn't feel crowded. Theresa was very helpful and giving us tips how to get around in Dublin. We were within walking distance to most places downtown. The breakfast was filling and delicious. The wi fi signal was strong. I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Even though we were on the street side, the room was very quiet.

My husband and I stayed at the Oaklodge B&B for two nights in June, and we were pleased with the room. It was very clean and tastefully decorated. The breakfast was good, and Teresa was very accommodating of our vegetarian diet. The area is very quiet, and it isn't too far from St. Stephen's Green, especially if you've got a car. My only complaint with the room was the hot water. It only stayed warm for one shower, so my husband took cold showers both nights.

I am glad you enjoyed your stay with us but really disappointed you did not mention your problem with the shower. I was not aware there was a problem and there should have been enough water for both of you and the remainder of my guests to shower comfortably. Had you brought this to my attention I could have dealt with it at the time. I welcome being made aware that there may be a problem and will be checking it out without further delay.

We spent a total of 4 nights at Oaklodge. Teresa is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is excellent with fresh fruit salad, cereals, cooked breakfast, toast and real coffee.
Oaklodge is tastefully furnished, a lovely house and in a good location in Dublin.

Oaklodge does match the website pictures-rooms are large and well appointed. The two single rooms do share a bathroom but this is not unusual in a B&B. The beds are comfortable the rooms are beautifully decorated and the hot water is hot

Oaklodge is a 20-25 min walk from the main attractions. We walked in each morning and caught the bus home in the afternoon.

There are a number of dining places within 10 mins of Oaklodge. We tried 'Fast Eddys' (Burgers etc , quite good value and reasonably priced),Balti & Indian restaurant was good but very expensive. We had dinner on 2 nights at Kiely's Pub and were impressed as the food and drink prices are excellent and the Pan fried cod is a must to try.

Overall in Ireland we found restaurant prices expensive, accommodation well priced and car hire exorbitant.

I would like to mention VIP taxis-this is the taxi company Teresa suggests. I left my mobile phone in the taxi from the airport to Oaklodge. I rang about an hour later and the company contacted the driver. He dropped the mobile at Oaklodge the next day!!!

Thank you Teresa we did enjoy our time with you.

My mom and I stayed at Oaklodge for two nights at the beginning of May, our stay was OK - the host was friendly and certainly available when needed, the beds were comfortable and breakfast was good and plentiful. However, the room was freezing and when we grabbed the extra blanket from the closet it was terribly stained and the rooms are somewhat plain. The Bed and Breakfast was just alright in comparison to other B&B's at the same price point that we stayed at throughout our visit to Ireland. I would suggest to Teresa to let her guests know about the tax refund travelers outside the EU are entitled to, as you must collect tax receipts for all purchases to claim the refund and retailers do not share this information with consumers. We did quite a bit of shopping in Dublin during our stay and were not aware of the tax refund.

Spent 4 nights at Oaklodge April 12-16 2013, my second stay in 6 months. Another excellent
stay....very relaxing, spotlessly clean, quiet, wonderful breakfast, fast and steady Wi-Fi.
The house is beautiful, Pembroke Park a very attractive street. Bus and DART handy although the weather was good and usually walked to Stephens Green and the city centre. Teresa is a very warm and welcoming host, quick to respond on booking, always helpful with information on transit, cab booking etc..
Favourite part of Dublin... Highly recommended... Looking forward to visit #3..!
