We took only a 1-day Cliffs of Moher tour. But the rail travel to western Ireland is fascinating. It's a way to see more of the country when you only have a little time. Dublin is beyond marvelous, but seeing the 'other Ireland' is well worth the effort. The arrangements were superb, the service of the staff was first rate, and the personal touches were excellent. We eschew these types of tours in general. We'd much rather indulge in our own wanderings, but if you don't have time you can't go wrong with Railtours.

My mom and I took a tour to The Cliffs of Moher, Bunratty Castle, The Burren and Galway Bay this past November. When we arrived at Heuston Station the tour group was super easy to find and we were in good hands from there on out. Noel our tour guide was a cute older gentleman who was hands down the best tour guide my mom and I have ever had. He was super friendly, kind, informative, funny and just an overall good tour guide. Throughout the tour he told us about the history of the area, stories about the Irish people, and through in jokes for good humor. What really impressed us was that even at the end of the day before we arrived back in Dublin, Noel made sure that everyone knew how to get to the locations they needed to, and in the most convenient and least expensive way. There was two different people on our group going to the same location that was only really accessible by cab/taxi at that time of day, and he suggested that if they were comfortable with it, that they could share a cab and save money. Even when we got to the station and were trying to buy tickets for the light rail Noel made sure we knew what station and direction we needed to go.

Thank you Railtours for a fabulous day. I would highly recommend to friends and family, especially if you get Noel as a tour guide.

We took the train from Dublin to Belfast and then hooked up with a bus tour to see amazing Northern Ireland. The drive was informative and enjoyable. The Giants causeway was amazing. I loved the trip. We packed way more into a single day then normal but it was enough time at each location. The only part of the trip i would have changed was lunch an Bushmills. I would pick a more Irish venue in the future. The best part of the trip was our primary guide, David Gallagher. He made us feel as though we were the only ones on the trip and he didecated a great amount of time to not only our day but helping use determine what else we needed to see in Ireland. I recommend using Railtours when there and ask for Dave.

In the short time we were in Ireland we wanted to see as much as possible and we took the combined train & bus tour and it turned out to be a fantastic experience. We saw and learned so much from our driver guide who never got tired explaining and showing all places of interest along the way. The tour was very well organized with stops to visit or to have a break or for lunch. Worth every cent.

Excellent experience. Our first visit to Ireland, and wanted to get outside of Dublin to see the country. A bit of an adventure to see the sites. Started at the Heuston station. Easy to find the folks as it was easily identified where to meet. The train and coach ride was very well organized. Had a wonderful time with a fantastic tour guide, Norman. A gentleman who was very helpful and had a wealth of knowledge. With a great sense of humor too!! A great way to see the sites, and not to worry about driving to/from, trying to find your way around,etc.. The tour was an excellent way to spend the day in Ireland, very well organized, and was we'll worth the cost of the trip. A great value, and a great time. Will book another tour with these folks on the next visit to Ireland in 2013.
