Have been to Dillinger's a number of times & have to say that every time it has lived up to expectations. The food is fantastic, generally simple & inexpensive (especially when you consider the quality).

I always like the atmosphere as it's quite a small space but always feels lively without being crowded. Your space feels like your own despite the fact that the tables are close together.

The staff are always lovely & helpful with a recommendation.

Top quality. Highly recommended.

Casual bistro that is buzzing every time I visit! Had the deep fried monkfish with a tartare sald to start. Really tasty. Opted for the pulled pork tacos for my main and almost forgot the photo! Delicious. The special for dessert was a berry pavlova which I had to share as it was so big. Fantastic atmosphere and very friendly staff (as has been the case on my two earlier visits). Very much a village hotspot which is crowded, but with locals.

Lunch on a wet day in Ranelagh is about people watching.Dillingers was very quiet about 9 guests during the hour we were there. We had the one of the specials and something similiar from the menu both were good not wonderful but tasty and certainly filling with a starter and 2 soft drinks the bill was all most €50. This was not good value for money
The room is pleasant and functional, the chairs are not very comfortable but are adequate for a fairly short sit.
The staf are efficient, friendly and helpful.

Having looked through a few different menus in the ranelagh area, we settled on dillingers for a special birthday meal. The staff were helpful, however we were left too long at the beginning ordering both wine and food at the same time. I didn't think the restaurant was that busy either. The meal itself wasn't fantastic, the burger was quiet bland, with not much going on - perhaps that is the nature of a burger. The steak was ok, but again it wasn't the best steak we have had. I particularly enjoyed the cabbage, corn sloth. We left the meal feeling unsatisfied, it was a very mediaoca compared to the price we paid. The menu on the website is different to the menu we had on the night, no chicken kiev on offer. Out of five main courses I think, three were fish, I felt a couple more meat options would help the menu.

Heading out to Ranelagh (with several restaurants) was a very good recommendation by our hotel (Hilton Dublin Charlemont). Rather than head in the more touristy direction of St. Stephen's Green, we could do a short walk or a very quick Luas ride (one stop) to Ranelagh. Dillingers worked for our family of 6 on a busy Sunday evening. Service and atmosphere were great. You have to wrap your head around the American influence (no Irish beers for example!). We had steamed mussels (excellent), Manhattan fish chowder (great flavor but a bit different), Rib eye (very good), pulled port taco special (also very good) and crab croquetts (great). Washed down with American beer and Spanish wine (on special). Not without a price: 167 Euro's without tip, but all in all we'd go again based on above aerage food and very nice staff/service! I'd also recommend a bit more discovery of Ranelagh because there is more there!

We'd do it again
