“Seriously over rated and has lost it's touch”
Reviewed January 13, 2013

I used to go here a fair bit but have stopped as the menu changed during 2012 to a sparse collection of not great dishes. The vegetarian options are seriously limited and any requests for a slight change in maybe one ingredient in a dish are blankly refused. I dislike goats cheese and at one stage every veggie option contained it. So I asked if it could be replaced with brie which was in other dishes and was told that it couldn't. Say no more, I voted with my feet- walking right out the door never to return.

From Mark Adams, Manage at Le Bon Crubeen; thank you for your review; but, I notice though that this review was based on your last visit which was a year ago?

I encourage you to try out the new Le Bon Crubeen; since March last year the menus, chef and management have all changed and the restaurant has expanded to include a new more intimate room. The owners were aware that a year ago things were not as they should be and made the changes necessary to take the restaurant back to what it always was, great food at good value.

Please check on our website and you'll see that there are vegetarian options available on all the menus and requests for changes in dishes will always be accommodated if we have the ingredients.

“super value for money, lovely music”
Reviewed January 12, 2013

Le Bon Crubeen is a sophisticated looking restaurant without beeing stuffy or poncy. The Table d'Hote menu is seriously good value for money at 25 euro for 3 courses (all of which were really delicious) and after 9pm they had a live jazz band on with a fantastically soulful singer. What more could you want on a Saturday night!

“Good Pub Grub on Dublin's Northside”
Reviewed December 24, 2012

We had an early bird dinner and were met by a very friendly Irish waitress and enjoyed very good pub grub food in a warm and inviting pub setting before attending a jazz gig. Highly recommended.

Nice point Guinness. Wine list bit on expensive side. We had bottle Cot de Rhone pleasant wine.
4 of us had salad starter, just ok.
I had 8oz steak for main course. I was not impressed. My friends thought their main course was just ok.

“Amazing”
Reviewed December 19, 2012

I've been to this restaurant on a number of occasions over the last year. It just seems to be getting better and better on each visit. The staff attentive and friendly but not overwhelmingly so. The food is exceptional, my last visit consisted of the prawn cocktail for starter, lamb rump for main course and panna cotta for desert. Perfect in every way. Credit where it's due. Keep it up.
