Me and my friend really enjoyed the area of Castleknock. It's beautiful, clean and peaceful, and still the connections to the city center are good (the bus stop is just outside the hotel). The B&B is also located just a few minutes from the Phoenix Park gate, and if you're patient it's possible to stroll through the the park to the city center (about 5 km or so). What we didn't enjoy quite as much was that the staff was a bit difficult to get in touch with during our visit. "24 hour reception" seems to mean "You can reach us if we're home and around", since the owner family also live in the building. However, when we DID get in touch with the staff they were helpful. The room was ok, just a bit noisy in the night because of the old floor making a squeaking sound.Overall, the B&B was priceworthy and it's actually nice to experience more than the city center of Dublin.
PS. Note that several maps show the wrong location of the hotel, just ask the taxi to take you to the Phoenix Park gate in Castleknock.

We booked in here and caught a taxi from the airport only to be told that the hotel the hotel was overbooked and that we would be staying in their sister hotel in the centre of Dublin. We then had to waste another hour waiting for another taxi to take us back to the city centre. We ended up at Lynhams Hotel on O'Connel Street. The reviews there speak for themselves. Had read that this had happened before from reviews that we had read on Trip Advisor.

We stayed at the deer park lodge and it's nestled into a cozy area of dublin with a fantastic park nearby. There is also a bus stop right out front that has lines that lead straight to downtown dublin or the airport. Super convenient. The room was very nice and spacious. We were most impressed with their integrity. My wife left her travel purse with cash and her debit card and the deer park lodge management promptly emailed us and DHL shipped our belongings immediately at no cost. It's nice to know you are staying in a place that values customer service.

we stayed for 3 nights during new years and were chuffed with it. It's only a few euros on the bus into the city centre (or a 40 min walk through the deer park)

the front room had sky tv, the staff were friendly and for the cost we couldn't complain about anything. clean rooms, friendly staff, the works.

Stayed here with colleagues while on business in Dublin in February. As I had made the booking I was a little apprehensive after reading previous reviews. When we were shown to our rooms however I realised that my fears were unfounded. My room was comfortably furnished with plenty of space and a clean modern bathroom. As we were delivering a presentation the next day the complimentary proved very helpful. The staff were welcoming and unintrusive. Breakfast the following morning consisted of a continental breakfast or an Irish fry. I decided to go for the fry which was cooked freshly to order and ready in minutes. All in all a good experience.

firstly three hours before arriving to Dublin from Madrid we received a call at Madrid Airport to tell us our room had been cancelled and to change us to a sister hotel, we had paid a deposit which was taken and had booked it nearly two weeks in advance, they had no reason for us to change so a family member from the area spoke to them and they let us stay. The bedroom seemed cozy but the carpet was dirty and then noticed the following day the bathroom was filthy and smelled of urine, the curtain bath was green, luckily we had family in the area and only slept in the lodge. Breakfast isn´t included in the main price and was very expensive. We were told to knock on the Kitchen door or ring the bell if we needed anything but nobody would answer us. It was a terrible place to stay in, it may be cheaper than some hotels but it´s not worth it at all which is a pity as it really well located.

The B&B had been booked prior to arrival date. On arrival 1 lady told us what rooms we had booked but the owner said she did not receive our booking despite paying a deposit. We had to stay with a relative of the owner and 2 of the girls did not even have a bed. They had to stay in fold up beds in the sitting room. They were very cold there. We only had one roll of toilet paper between us for two days and did not get clean towels for the second day of our stay depsite us leaving us leaving our dirty towels on the floor. Would not stay again or recommend anyone to stay there. We were also not near the bus or luas line and would need a car to get to the luas or bus into the city centre. The bus or luas was about 15 mins in the car. Any spar shop or chience was at least 10 mins walk away.
