Adare Bed & Breakfast
Ranked #14 of 149 Dublin B&B and Inns
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed March 12, 2011

From the very first contact everything was perfect. Clear and friendly feedback to us by mail.
We got a huge double room with en-suite bathroom. It was cosy, clean and nothing was missing.

Catherine and Patrick are great hosts! They are friendly, very service minded and very helpful with information about things to see and do in Dublin.

The breakfast table was impressive. Cereals, yoghurt, milk, fresh fruit, tea, toast and cooked breakfast too.

The B&B is in walking distance to the centre, but it is also so close to the bus stop that transportation is no issue at all. The street has no traffic, so it is nice and calm.

We give our highest recommendation to Adare B&B

Good sized rooms, good breakfasts, huge comfy beds, lovely welcome. Quiet location just minutes walk from good pubs and restaurants in Ballsbridge and Ranelagh. Walking distance from town too but anyway there are frequent buses plus the Airbus stop just a minute's walk away. We arrived in Dublin at some silly hour but Patrick arranged to let us drop off our luggage at breakfast time leaving us luggage free to enjoy our day. Would happily recommend it and will be going there again. Many thanks to you both for looking after us so well.

This is a lovely Bed and Breakfast situated in Ballsbridge, only a mile or two from Dublin city centre, but nice and quiet, which made a nice change from some of the central places I have stayed at in the past. The B&B is easily reached from the airport by the Aircoach service and there are plenty of buses providing easy access to the city centre from Morehampton Road that runs nearby.
I was given a very warm welcome, arriving as I did on one of Dublin's rare very snowy nights! The house and room were nice and warm, the room was very clean and the bed was large and very comfortable.
The ensuite facilities - toilet, basin and shower - were also very clean, although my bathroom was slightly small - but I can't comment on whether the other rooms are similar.
All the facilities in the room (TV, radio alarm, lights) functioned correctly (unlike some hotels I have stayed at in the past!). Initial fears that the TV wasn't working proved unfounded once I found I was pressing the wrong button on the remote control!
The price included a full Irish cooked breakfast, which was lovely. A selection of cereals is also available.
Tea and coffee making facilities are also available during the day, although note that these are not actually in the rooms, but are located in the breakfast room.
The service was excellent - Patrick was a friendly host and made me feel very welcome throughout my stay.
If you are looking for a comfortable place to stay and don't need any of the additional amenities offered by hotels, I would recommend this B&B without hesitation. I think it offers great value - the only reason I have given it a 4star value rating is really because Dublin is quite an expensive place to visit at the present time. I think the comfort and quality of the room, and the personal level of service exceed that offered by some far more expensive hotels I have visited in the past.

Our 2 night stay at the Adare was very enjoyable, our hosts were extremely friendly and helpful and made us so welcome. Our flight arrived into Dublin at 7.30 in the morning where we hopped on the Aircoach bus which was convenient for the Adare. Because we were so early arriving in Dublin our hosts had suggested we could drop our bags off which left us free to go and explore. We were in the large family room upstairs at the front of the house and together with the large shower room we had plenty of space for the two of us. There is a hairdryer in the room. The double bed was very comfortable so a good nights sleep was had followed by a really nice cooked breakfast each morning in the lovely breakfast room. Tea & coffee wasn't set up in the bedroom but was available in the breakfast room downstairs. The Adare is located in the exclusive Donnybrook area and was just ideal for us to stroll to Ballsbridge and into town.

My husband and 2 boys thoroughly enjoyed staying at this beautifully renovated Irish home. Our hosts went out of their way to help us with travel advice and directions. Our room was spacious and very clean. The breakfast was very nice and included a wide range of choice. There were good local shops and pubs for meals and it was an easy walk into the CBD. We enjoyed it so much that we stayed our initial 2 days and then rang to see if there was availability later in the week because our boys felt at home there. Our only concern was the wonderful 4 poster bed was a little bit squeaky.
