We stayed at the Adare House, 2 blocks from the town center of Donnybrook Village, about 15 min. from Dublin by bus. The bus stop was 2 blocks from the hotel. A beautiful large open space, Herbert Park, was right around the corner. It was a very quiet upscale neighborhood. We enjoyed lively conversations with our hosts Catherine and Patrick, who served great breakfasts with lots of information when asked. We felt quite welcome at Adare.

Room Tip: If you do not have a car, take the city bus to town and then the hop on, hop off bus which is good f...

The Adare House is located only a mile from the city center offering off street parking in a quiet neighborhood. Catherine and Patrick were wonderful hosts, making our stay memorable. They offered great recommendations on what to do in the city along with where to eat. The breakfast was more than you could ask for; cooked to order eggs each morning along with other items helped fill you up for the day. Our room was very clean, roomy, and well appointed. Great value!

This B&B was a lovely house in a very nice neighborhood about a mile south of dublin center city. The rooms are large and comfortable and very nicely decorated. There is off street parking. the house is immaculate and the hosts are very helpful with questions of how to get around. there is a bus half a block away plus a few restaurants within a few blocks. we walked to dublin and back, and took the bus once. You can't beat the price for staying in Dublin and we enjoyed our stay there.

The Adare House is located in one of the nicer neighborhoods in Dublin. The owner, Patrick, is very friendly and inviting. Breakfast is made fresh for everyone, and kept very simple (to include instant coffee). Room was very clean. When we arrived, there were cleaning products left out on the bathroom floor. The room is equipped with a whirlpool hot tub, though, it was out of service. On our second morning there my family had to take cold showers, as there was no hot water. We learned that this is because, to save money, the owner doesn't turn the hot water on until 6:00 AM. There is no access to the large rear garden, for guests. This was the only B&B on our vacation that required down payment to reserve a room. This wouldn't be a huge deal, except that they also don't accept credit cards, which is quite inconvenient. Since we bank in the UK, it would have cost us 20 pounds to wire down payment. We made this case to Patrick, and luckily he was understanding enough to allow us to stay without downpayment. I'm afraid I can't recommend the Adare House to other travelers.

Have you ever seen the photos of "the doors of Dublin" showing the colorful Georgian era doors in Dublin? Well, that's what you'll see in the neighborhood of the Adare House, which is located in a quiet, upscale area of Dublin.
As you can see from the other reviewers, this B&B is only about a 20 minute walk to St Stephen's Green. But if you plan on doing lots of walking, the bus station into centre city is only two blocks away. You don't need to walk for everything. McCloskey's pub is just a couple of blocks away in the event that you'd like a pint before bedtime. Another pub, Keily's, was very informal (sort of a 'sports pub') had a surprisingly good meal for dinner.
Back to Adare. Our room was quiet spacious and I doubt that we could have had anything bigger within Dublin. Clean, good breakfast, and accommodating hosts in Catherine and Patrick. I don't believe that the photos available on the Internet do this B&B justice as it is much nicer that it appears online.

Our 4 nights stay at the Adare was from the 1st to the 5th May. The beautiful old house lies in a very nice and quiet area, where you never feel unsave, but it is also not far away from the city centre. All you need is in a short distance to the house (food store, pharmacy, bank or even a restaurant). The next bus stop is only 5 minutes to walk to, and Patrick gives you all neccessary informations about the lines you need to get to the centre of Dublin and even the prices for the bus. The centre is just a 10 minute ride away. The rooms in the the house are very big and clean, the bathrooms are typical Commonwealth style, but also very clean and functional. The cooked breakfast was excellent every morning. The Foys are very friendly and helpful to all their guests and any information you need, they will give to you. For example, you need a Taxi? Just ask them. The price for the rooms are quite good for Dublin. We enjoyed our stay at the Adare very much, and could recommend the house to all travellers.

We were staying in Adare house for two nights in April 2013. The room was very large, so that three beds had sufficient space. Heating was OK and necessary as it was snowy 0°C outside. Bathroom was a bit old fashion - the typical Commonwealth style - but clean and sufficient for us. WLAN in the room worked fine.
The house was not too busy, around 3 parties. So it was very quiet.
Breakfast was the typical Irish breakfast with sausages and black pudding. Very tasty. In the breakfast room you could also get a tea or coffee during the day.
If you stay longer, you might miss a more cosy living room for the evening - for us it was no issue however.
Patrick was very kind and helpful, don't hesitate to ask him for sightseeing tips.
The house is 30min to walk from the centre or 5min from the next bus stop. You can park your car on the Adare property (3-4 cars), outside you would need to pay during day time.
For dinner there is a restaurant around the corner (ask Patrick, just 5min walk), which looked OK, but we have not tried it. Instead of we visited the pub beside the restaurant. A typical sports bar but with a lot of space and a good Irish stew.
Allo in all we were satisfied with our choice of Adare house. Price for the 2 nights was quite good for Dublin. We would come again, hopefully at a more warmer time.
