“Perfect stay for a reasonable price”
Reviewed May 10, 2013

We were staying in Adare house for two nights in April 2013. The room was very large, so that three beds had sufficient space. Heating was OK and necessary as it was snowy 0°C outside. Bathroom was a bit old fashion - the typical Commonwealth style - but clean and sufficient for us. WLAN in the room worked fine.
The house was not too busy, around 3 parties. So it was very quiet.
Breakfast was the typical Irish breakfast with sausages and black pudding. Very tasty. In the breakfast room you could also get a tea or coffee during the day.
If you stay longer, you might miss a more cosy living room for the evening - for us it was no issue however.
Patrick was very kind and helpful, don't hesitate to ask him for sightseeing tips.
The house is 30min to walk from the centre or 5min from the next bus stop. You can park your car on the Adare property (3-4 cars), outside you would need to pay during day time.
For dinner there is a restaurant around the corner (ask Patrick, just 5min walk), which looked OK, but we have not tried it. Instead of we visited the pub beside the restaurant. A typical sports bar but with a lot of space and a good Irish stew.
Allo in all we were satisfied with our choice of Adare house. Price for the 2 nights was quite good for Dublin. We would come again, hopefully at a more warmer time.

Our 6 nights stay at Adare last week has proved very satisfactory. The beautiful Victorian house lies in a distinguished, superbly neat and quiet area of South Dublin, Donnybrook, very well connected to downtown and Dublin airport (bus / Aircoach stops are a 5 minutes walk away. Downtown is a 10 minutes bus ride away). Nearby a bank, a well supplied food store, a pharmacy and a restaurant - and even a small nice bookstore - cater to all immediate needs. Mr. and Mrs. Foy, the owners, are very kind and helpful. Hot breakfast, prepared and served by the owners, is tasty and filling - eggs, sausage, bacon, tomato and excellent toasted bread are a must at the beginning of a long walking day... Our room was comfortable and clean. Wi-fi is available. Definitely recommended.

My wife and I stayed at Adare Bed & Breakfast on two separate occasions in March 2013 and greatly enjoyed each visit. Catherine and Patrick are polite, professional and attentive. We were especially grateful that on the night of our arrival from the airport they graciously stayed up past the 10:00 pm hour for our arrival, when we anticipated arriving much sooner. When we initially booked our stay we were wary of the deposit that was required by post, but following our visit I am happy we undertook the effort. Breakfast was cooked perfectly to order, our room was clean and nicely appointed, and while the home is 15 minutes walk to City Centre (20 minutes to Temple Bar), the walk is a pleasant stroll through a good neighborhood where one feels generally secure. The only part of our stay that was somewhat discomforting was that when our room was cleaned in our absence, some of my personal items were relocated to a drawer. While I quickly found the items, I hadn't before encountered this situation in my travels and was momentarily puzzled. All in all, a small matter. In summary, I recommend Adare Bed & Breakfast without hesitation, and look forward to a return stay.

We stayed at the Adare House April 19 and 20 of 2013 the first two days of our vacation. Catherine and Patrick were tremendous hosts. The house was beautiful, very clean and the rooms are large. There is on-site parking and the wifi worked well. The location was excellent for us between University College Dublin and the city center. For us the city was an easy walk, about 15 minutes. The real test for Catherine and Patrick came when we showed up at their doorstep at 8:00 am in the rain on April 25. We had previously booked another B & B down the street for our last two days. The other place (Donnybrook Hall) was terrible and was going to ruin our vacation. Patrick graciously welcomed us back and fortunately had a room available for the night. They saved our vacation. We were able to stay in a different room, also spacious with a good bed. I have traveled to Ireland and Scotland several times staying in over a dozen bed and breakfasts this one is the BEST! Thank You Catherine and Patrick

We loved our stay at ADARE. The room was beautiful as was the entire home and decorated in Victorian style. Excellent breakfast, good coffee and wonderful hosts. Great location within walking distance of our first Irish pub, two excellent restaurants and a bank. We would definitely stay again and in fact spent 3 nights there. I would stay again and will certainly recommend it to any friends visiting Dublin.

We stayed at Adare House in April 2013, for 3 nights.
We were welcomed by Patrick, who was really nice and gave us lots of information about the zone (it is not in the city centre, but only about 20 minutes walk from it), transports, what to do, where to eat...
Our room was comfortable, full of light, and the bathroom too, and the area is very quiet.
Great breakfast, with cereals, milk, coffee, toasts, and cooked irish breakfast with bacon, sausages and eggs.
