“Lovely B & B”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 28, 2012

We stayed in the triple room and it was very spacious with a huge en-suite. The furniture & decor is lovely and we had off-street parking for our car. It is ideally situated for exploring Dublin and Catherine and Patrick were delightful hosts. Will definitely be back.

We stayed here two nights, arriving straight from the ferry to Dublin Port. We could park the car off the road at the front of the house. Our room was a good size, lovely and bright, with a view over the garden and a nice bathroom. Our hosts, Patrick and Catherine, were very pleasant and told us all we needed to know about the locality and getting into the city.

Breakfast – full Irish - was very tasty though we were a little surprised not to be asked at all what we wanted (though I’m sure we could have said). The dining room was a lovely room, decorated to suit this early 20th century house.

Adare House is very handily located - only two roads back from a main thoroughfare into Dublin, but far enough away for the noise not to be a problem. It was only 5 minutes’ walk to the bus stop and the buses into town came every few minutes (it was 15 minute journey to the centre). Just as close was Herbert Park, which we wandered round on our first evening – it was full of locals enjoying the park, jogging or exercising in some way, and there was even a guy practising on the bagpipes. Within 10 minutes was a good selection of restaurants and a bank with ATM. We ate in O’Connell’s of Donnybrook, which was so good we went back again the next night.

Lovely house situated in a quiet neighbourhood close to shops, banks, restaurants and a park. Only a 20 minute walk to centre of Dublin. Rooms were very comfortable and clean. Our hosts, Patrick and Catherine, couldn't have been more helpful to make our stay enjoyable. They not only provided an excellent breakfast every morning but they also were always on hand to help. We would definitely stay there again.

Adare B&B is situated in a smart part of South Dublin.
A sincere greeting will make you happy to come in Dublin where you'll meet Patrick and Catherine for your first contact in Ireland. The house is marvellous, the rooms are comfortable and quiet, the view on the garden is nice. Your are not far from the buses which can drive you to the center of Dublin in 10 minutes. The breakfast tastes good and is complete. There are some restaurants ands shops in Donnybrooks village which is close, 5 minutes walk. My family and I (2 adults and 2 children) had a very pleasant rest in Adare and would probably come again for another trip to Dublin.

Room Tip: All the rooms are calm, the house is not situated on a busy road

Adare B&B is a beautifully restored Edwardian house in Donnybrook, a beautiful part of Dublin, near to the centre. Regular buses take you the 15 minute drive into the centre. Catherine and Patrick are wonderful hosts, always ready to help and give advice. An excellent breakfast is provided. I will definitely try and book here if I come to Dublin again!

Beautiful home in a quiet neighborhood around the corner from Herbert Park. Short walk to downtown along Dublin's gorgeous Georgian streets. The rooms are well-appointed and spotless. The hosts, Patrick and Catherine, are very welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable and obliging. We stayed for 3 nights at the start of our 2 week visit and happily returned for our last night. It felt like we were returning home! I would not hesitate to recommend this lovely B&B and look forward to some day returning. Ballsbrige is a lovely neighborhood with tree-lined streets and gorgeous shops and restaurants. It is a short walk to Sandymount village and the beach on the Irish sea; nice to see even on a rainy day.

We enjoyed our time at the Adare B&B. Our flight got in very early and they so graciously got our room turned around so we could check in early. Breakfast was good each morning. Quiet & safe neighborhood. My only complaint is the distance from City Centre-it is a good 25-30 minute walk to Temple Bar area so you're not really able to run back for a quick rest or to drop off your purchases easily.
