“A bad experience.”
Reviewed December 20, 2013

We recently visited the concert hall for a JFK Commemorative concert with the RTE concert orchestra. It involved showing footage of JFKs visit to Ireland on a screen and thats where the problems started !!.We had booked the most expensive seats in the balcony area only to find that we were sitting beside a very large generator which was being used to show the film. The film shown was only for about 5 mins but unfortunately the generator was left on for the entire performanace making so much noise that it was impossible to hear the music. This completely ruined our enjoyment of the concert. We complained afterwards to the Concert Hall and asked for a complete refund which they eventually agreed to do.After years of going to the concert hall , this experience wouldnt make me want to return.

“National Concert Hall, Dublin”
Reviewed December 15, 2013

Excellant range of classical and other music at very good prices, and very easy to book online with no booking fee. Well worth checking out if visiting Dublin as an alternative to the usual drinking venues

“A Very Enjoyable Night”
Reviewed November 21, 2013

I was in the National Concert Hall to see the Soweto Gospel Choir. It was an amazing experience. This was not only because the Choir were so fantastic and a burst of colour to brighten up any Winters evening but this is such a beautiful venue for any musical event. The Concert Hall itself is so elegant with a brilliant atmosphere. The staff were all excellent and very attentive. The sound in the auditorium was very good. I did not eat there but there is a restaurant there if you wished to dine before a show! We went to the bar after the show and the Gospel Choir were there mingling among those of us who were still there! It was a fantastic night overall and look forward to going back again.

“Good place”
Reviewed August 29, 2013

I have been here few times for concerts, classical and also "modern".
The organization was good, and the acoustic was good.
The only small issue is the queue at the interval, but nothing major!!!
I never tried the food, so I can’t give any good feedback on that!!

“Great value lunchtime concerts and a very varied programme”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

The National Concert Hall is like a national treasure in Dublin. Those that know of it are regular visitors and the rest dont know what they are missing! if you enjoy good classical music or would just like to try something cultural and different then its well worthwhile getting yourself down there to sample one of the extremely good value Summer lunchtime concerts. They are on every Tuesday with full symphony / concert orchestra and cost only €10. There is also an option to buy a Grab and Go lunch to eat there or take away to enjoy in the adjacent St Stephens Green Park if the weather is fine. If you are in Dublin as a tourist and not rushing back to work this is an excellent way to while away an hour or two and get a dose of classical culture to boot.

The have a really good and varied programme throughout the year and occasionally feature mainstream artists such as Paul Brady and Sinead O'Connor this month. Jazz and Blues also feature from time to time.

The building itself is very elegant, stylish and comfortable with great acoustics and a smaller auditorium for some gigs. It has full bar and restaurant facilities also.

Student and OAP discounts are also available for most gigs and if you are not too fussy about your seating location then the seats behind the stage on the choir balcony are usually the cheapest.

Check out the website for full programme details and booking information: https://www.nch.ie/Online/
