The stretch to Avoca is an absolute waste of (and consumes far too much) time. If I were to do it again I would rather choose a tour which afforded me more time to explore the lakes instead.

Thanks for taking the time to post your comments. We take all customer feedback on board. Sorry to hear that you did not enjoy Avoca. In general the response from our customers so far is that they have enjoyed the visit to Avoca. It is a small country village, typical of what you would expect to find in the Irish countryside. There are number of things to do in the village, which include a visit to Avoca Mill where you can see the handweavers at work and enjoy some delicious home cooked food as part of our meal deal. You can also visit Fitzgerld's Pub which was used in the filming of Ballykissangel. In 2013 we will be offering an additional Wicklow Tour, which visits Russborough House for those of you who may prefer an alternative stop.

Although we are staying in Dublin for a full week without a car, we wanted to see a bit of the countryside. This tour south of the city provided us that opportunity. It was at times misty, windy, sunny, etc. What a beautiful area of the country. Our granddaughter commented she has now seen what she has previously read in the Bronte stories. Our driver/guide Joe was great fun - he entertained us with song and taught us the choruses as he went along.

The very positive reviews of this trip encouraged us to book it and we were not disappointed. Our guide and driver Joe was informative, interesting, entertaining and thoughtful (shame about the jokes :) !!!). We learned a lot about Ireland and especially this area. The scenery was lovely and although the weather was rather wet we enjoyed every minute.

Thank you for a terrific day. A highly recommended tour.

I have no words to praise this tour enough. Our driver guide was excellent. His commentary was sufficient and helped us understand a lot the historical background of Ireland. He was funny, entertaining, smiling and happy person and never got tired to explain and point out or stop at point of interest. Although it was a dark rainy day he made the tour nice and we forgot about the depressive weather. I highly recommend the tour. I am afraid I cannot remember his name but he was GOOD.

Great views at Blessington Lakes. Travel back 1400 years in time at Glendalough, and enjoy an hour or more walk in the woods, sprinkled with tales from a well-informed guide about St. Kevin who founded the settlement. The Avoca Handweavers self-guided tour was very interesting. Great value for the price.
