“Great food great service”
Reviewed January 17, 2013

The service in this restaurant was excellent; everything seemed perfectly timed. Very friendly staff. We ordered a bread starter but didn't realise you got this at the start anyway. The main dishes came very quickly, we had only finished our starter seconds before it arrived but this is not something I would complain about. I got the Ragu and my girlfriend got Ravioli. I couldn't decide which I liked more, both were delicious. You could tell it was cooked perfectly, much better than any I'd tried to cook at home.I would have preferred a bigger serving but with starter and desert it was fine.

For desert I got banana sticky toffee pudding, which don't get my wrong was delicious but it had almonds in it which I am not fond of but this is no fault of the restaurant. Girlfriend got the chocolate fondant and loved it.

As soon as we were standing a waiter was already walking towards us with our coats. Very friendly goodbye.

Only down point was that it was quite cramped, I did only call on the Friday afternoon and managed to get a table for that night but we had quite a bad table right in the middle with people brushing past us all night.

“Amazing”

Food here is fab.. The chocolate fondant is the best, you could eat two of them. The main courses are all lovely. Ive been there 5 times and go there as a treat as it is quite expensive

“very disappointed”
Reviewed January 14, 2013 via mobile

having eaten here couple of times before and loved it. i brought my husband and 8 week old son 5pm on a thurs eve. from the moment we arrived we were made feel like we were a real inconvenience having our baby with us. The food wasn't up to its usual high standard, the normally fab choc puds were actually burnt and my husband got a hair in his. I didnt complain at the tine because tbh we just wanted to get out of there. such a shame it didnt live up to its normally great standards.

“Food was not up to our great expectations and didn't match the excellent service.”
Reviewed January 6, 2013

As a young couple visiting Dublin, we checked trip advisor for recommended Italians to eat at, and this seemed to fit the bill. However it seems our version of Italian is simple pasta and pizzas where as here is far more sophisticated and up market. Although the food wasn't quite what we fancied, the atmosphere was good and the service was excellent.

“Best italian ever, such a warm welcome, made our day and ended 2012 perfectly!”
Reviewed January 3, 2013

We had heard of this little italian place and as we were only in Dublin for a couple of days during the New Year celebrations, we were so much hoping we could have a meal there... we love food and being in a warm and cosy atmosphere while eating out, and are always on the hunt for authentic places...we tend to run away from all the tourists traps!!! we didn't have much plans for our new year's Eve evening and after the fireworks ended, were not quite sure where to go... we decided to try our luck at Il Vicoletto... we were greeted by a girl that told us that without booking there was no way we could eat there that night...until fallen from Heaven, the manager of the place came to our rescue and told us to come back one hour later, took our telephone nber and even though could'nt promise he could get us in, made us really feel welcome if a table became available at that time....we went for a nice mug of tea in a little coffee place nearby and waited patiently, really hoping we could get in... nearer the time, around 10pm we decided to head back to Il Vicoletto and try our luck... the boss came out and told us we could get in! we were really pleased, and I must say our wait was sooooooooooooo worth it!!!! The food was so delicious, the staff really lovely and even if we were not (unfortunately, as we live in Paris!) regular customers, it felt like spending evening with friends and family. The place is extremely cosy and warm, it will bring joy to your heart! we love Italy and italian food anyway, and this place translate the warmth of this country and its people... Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!! once again a Happy New Year to you guys, and if we ever come back to Dublin, be sure we will visit you again (we may book in advance this time ;o) ....
