As a young couple visiting Dublin, we checked trip advisor for recommended Italians to eat at, and this seemed to fit the bill. However it seems our version of Italian is simple pasta and pizzas where as here is far more sophisticated and up market. Although the food wasn't quite what we fancied, the atmosphere was good and the service was excellent.

We had heard of this little italian place and as we were only in Dublin for a couple of days during the New Year celebrations, we were so much hoping we could have a meal there... we love food and being in a warm and cosy atmosphere while eating out, and are always on the hunt for authentic places...we tend to run away from all the tourists traps!!! we didn't have much plans for our new year's Eve evening and after the fireworks ended, were not quite sure where to go... we decided to try our luck at Il Vicoletto... we were greeted by a girl that told us that without booking there was no way we could eat there that night...until fallen from Heaven, the manager of the place came to our rescue and told us to come back one hour later, took our telephone nber and even though could'nt promise he could get us in, made us really feel welcome if a table became available at that time....we went for a nice mug of tea in a little coffee place nearby and waited patiently, really hoping we could get in... nearer the time, around 10pm we decided to head back to Il Vicoletto and try our luck... the boss came out and told us we could get in! we were really pleased, and I must say our wait was sooooooooooooo worth it!!!! The food was so delicious, the staff really lovely and even if we were not (unfortunately, as we live in Paris!) regular customers, it felt like spending evening with friends and family. The place is extremely cosy and warm, it will bring joy to your heart! we love Italy and italian food anyway, and this place translate the warmth of this country and its people... Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!! once again a Happy New Year to you guys, and if we ever come back to Dublin, be sure we will visit you again (we may book in advance this time ;o) .... Lily and Pierre.

This was our second time to Il Vicoletto. My husband had the set price menu with calamari for the starter, the linguini with clam sauce, and the banana pudding. The calamari was brilliant. The clams on the linguini were not sufficient to be considered a meal. Banana pudding was Lovely. I had an absolutely amazing dinner. Started with the mixed salad which included Fresh healthy greens and a nice vinegrette. Then I had the chicken with mushroom sauce. Fabulous!!! And then, the absolute best item of the night was the poached pear dessert. A bit expensive, but worth it! Enjoy Il Vicoletto...it's so cozy and the the staff are very attentive. They keep the table cleared and clean as you move through the dinner.

Thank Michelle M

To begin with there are many italian restaurants in dublin. We read the reviews on some and deceided on
Il vicoletto.we made reservations the day before it was allmost booked but they could get us in, keep in mind this restaurant only holds 35 people.we were excited bcause of the good reviews in fact someone said it was better than italy, what a joke and poor customer service to go with it. Got there set near the front door got bumped into by the staff constantley, ordered wine and never came out.our app came out still no wine and no water!! When our pasta came out it was glazed over and barely warm like it had been under a heat lamp awhile.whats interesting is that when its full there is only 35 customers!food quality and service was poor and not a care from mngr/owner! If these were true italianos they would be much more carring wouldhave taken care of us! Wont come back , too many good places in dub to eat!!!

Hi dear reviewer,we might not be perfect , but what you're saying is far from being true. It does not reflect of what we're doing in here, everything is about quality, and while anyone will dine with us will always benefit from our maximal attention in order to deliver best service. As owner and manager I'm maniac about this aspects, who knows me or ever worked with us can confirm it. We probably don't appeal to everyone, and that's ok ,we try to reach out to those potential customers with genuine expectations when it comes to quality traditional ITalian cuisine. Small compromises can be made, to change an entire recipe to someone's liking that contradict our recipe,it will be most likely avoided.Stick to what we do best and ask or accept a suggestion, don't presume you know it all just cause some ITalian restaurants promote commercial menus designed to please tourists, we're not a tourist trap.We appreciate your time spent to express your personal experience, we just don't identify ourselves with your description , we wish you a very Happy Christmas ,regards Vicoletto team.

Food is excellent and the wine list is fantastic too. Great little place with very good food. Antipasti starter is the best I have ever had.
