“Loved it - Will be back”

I wanted to thank Seamus and all the wonderful staff at the Parkway B&B in Dublin. I loved my time there and felt like I was with family. The room was very comfortable, coffee and tea fixings in the room, fabulous (generous portions) breakfast in a lovely dining area, and so, so helpful with any questions and navigation issues that I had. The location is perfect - quiet and far enough away from the 'loud' bar districts, but close enough to walk right into the centre on a daily basis. A 10 minute walk was all that was needed and only a 5 minute walk to the "Hop On - Hop Off" Dublin Bus. Couldn't be more perfect. Thanks so much to all of you for a wonderful experience and you will certainly be my first choice when I return to the fabulous city of Dublin.

Colleen

We were planning to stay at The Parkway Guesthouse for two nights when unfortunately we had to return to the US for a family emergency. With only a day notice Seamus kindly refunded our credit card. The reason we were choosing the Parkway Guesthouse is that we had friends who stayed there and only said wonderful things about Seamus and his B&B. Seamus worked very hard to get us a family room for two days on short notice and went above and beyond to accommodate us. When we return to Dublin we will stay at the Parkway.

We spent one night at the Parkway as we were on our way to Donegal. Seamus had contacted us before we arrived to check if we needed a parking space, which was very helpful. We were met with a warm welcome and helped with our luggage, he really could not have been more helpful. The room was very comfortable and freshly decorated with the usual tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast was excellent, and the staff were very attentive. The guesthouse is well situated with the Temple bar area within easy walking distance. We would definitely stay here again.

We spent 4 nights at this bed and breakfast in June. Our experience of Parkway was mixed.

Our room was on the top floor. We booked a "double room" and we ended up in a room with a double bed and two single beds. Good for a family I guess but the extra beds were more of a nuisance and I'd much rather have had a chair or a desk or just more space. The furniture and bedding was cheap and looked old. The rest of the building is quite run down and a bit messy. The cooked Irish breakfast was acceptable, but again nothing to write home about.

The location is ok, but could be better. It is two blocks from the north end of O'Connell Street, so it is within walking distance to the main shopping street on the north bank of Dublin. It is still quite far from the south bank where most of the attractions and night life is centred.

Our overall assessment of Parkway is that it is a very basic bed and breakfast. The rooms with 3 beds are good for larger groups but not for a couple. For just two people, the price is not low enough for such a basic experience.

My husband and I spent two nights at Parkway in late May. Seamus and his wife were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. The guesthouse is north of the river Liffey which places it in a more affordable if less trendy part of town. Easy walk to Temple Bar area. The guesthouse was clean, neighborhood is quiet and the bed was very comfortable. Just a warning - the rooms and bathroom are SMALL - but since we were busy all day and not in the room - it wasn't a problem.

I just spent 3 nights here. Great location. Gardiner street runs off Connelly street which is one of dublin cities main streets & it's about a 15 minute walk to all the main attractions (st pats cathedral, Guinness factory, castle etc)

Old gregorian place. Rooms are basic but for the price they are good, very clean & comfortable. Rooms are cleaned daily. Staff are very relaxed & helpful. Breakfast includes cereal, yoghurt as well as an Irish breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage & hash brown.

Over all, decent hotel in a good central area & overall great value considering the cost. I'd definitely stay here again
