“First choice for a short stay in Dublin”

Stayed at Parkway Guesthouse attending the "Redemption Festival" together with a friend. Room and bathroom were very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was just perfect, fast served and tasty. The whole staff was exceptionally friendly. Parkway was the icing on the cake on a great weekend in Dublin. Definitely my first choice for a my next trip to Dublin. Totally recommended.

Stayed with Seamus when we were visiting Dublin for the Rugby, top guy, and place was great. Easy access to O'Connell street, building full of character and always someone on hand to give help or advice.

Hi,
We were in Ireland for nearly a week and spent our last two days/nights in Dublin. We were a family of four adults and we had a really hard time to find a b&b. Finally found a 4-bed-room at the Parkway Guesthouse. We really wanted two separate rooms, but there were none available. Must say the room was much better than I thought. It was ok for the four of us. Breakfast was great and the location of the B&B as well. The two girls working there were very helpful and we got a permit for our car and could park it right outside the b&b. Would definitely stay at the Parkway again if I come back to Dublin.

Stayed there in December with a friend. Good price for a comfortable bedroom and a decent breakfast. Seamus the owner was a star and sent my mobile (which I dropped down the side of the bed!) back to me in Denmark free of charge!

Recently my wife and I spent ten nights at Parkway and we felt right at home. We are what you call older. Caught the #41 bus from A/P, walked a bit to the Parkway early in the morning, and our room was ready thanks the Seamus, a friendly guy who will take care of you. Hot water and heat was usually available morning and night. We're vegetarians so they took care of that. (Remember that Irish cuisine is an oxymoron. Go to Italy if you want memorable food.)

We're walkers, so that's what we did. Walked to the Gaol, to Trinity College, the wonderful Dublin Museums -- many places. Tried to take a different path each time, so we saw a lot in this city that was made for walking. Along the Liffey River. How many tourists have walked by the huge fruit & vegetable wholesale market? We did take the #40 bus to the cemetery and another private bus to an evening song & dance show.

The wide sidewalks of Dublin are abuzz with hurrying pedestrians and shoppers. What a sight. The Irish have absolutely no discernible walking pattern. They will head directly for you no matter what side of the path you're on, and somehow with slight movements of shoulder and arm they will miss colliding with you. Something to behold, and you will behold it many times, trust me on this.

The historic walking tour, the cemetery tour, the gaol tour, Guiness Brewery & Jameson Distillery -- even the General Post Office, where the Easter Uprising centered, has a great museum! We loved the history. Irish against Brits; Irish against Irish. The gaol down-plays the Brit oppression so as not to offend Brit tourists, so keep an open mind. I think current Brits are blameless, actually. We also did a James Joyce reading - fun. YOU will do some reading!

The Pubs. Guinness (non-pasteurized here) tastes better here than anywhere. Usually a couple of pints will verify this -- repeat daily. Remember to ask for a Guinness, not a glass of Guinness, which would get you only a ha'pint. Clearly insufficient. And don't make the mistake I did and grab it before it's fully prepared. It takes time to settle.Wait for it.

Music. The Irish have it in their soul. Check out O'Donohue's near Stephen's Green on a Sunday night.

Leaving the Parkway, we walked to a bus stop for the #41 a block away. Piece of cake. Why stay anywhere else? We miss it already.

Room Tip: I think that staying longer, and in November, may have got us a better room.

We stayed here 4 nights. It was a wonderful place to base our stay in Dublin. The room (3A) was big enough, the breakfasts were big enough with plenty of coffee and we were close enough to the things we wanted to see. We never rode the busses or took taxis. The Hugh Lane Museum was on our street and the theaters were close by. The room was very quiet. Seamus is an enthusiastic host. This was a great place to end our 11 week trip to Europe. The internet was fast and dependable.

The best way to make a reservation here, I think, is to call him, but it can also be done at various hotel booking sites. Checking in and then out was simple and easy.

Room Tip: 3A was actually a triple room.

I booked with the Parkway guesthouse but had to cancel at very short notice. the person I spoke to on the phone was exceptionally kind and understanding and no money was charged for cancelling. the location was ideal for my business in Dublin and the guesthouse was easy to access. it was also near the city centre which is useful for transpont and shopping.
