This was the last thing we planned before we came home and really what a terrific farewell to Ireland/Dublin it was ! The food and the story telling was all wonderful...our entire family enjoyed it very much! We took our kids who are all in their 20's and they had the best time. Michael was so knowledgeable and just had a knack for keeping you totally engages in what he was saying. The musicians were a surprising piece and were an absolute delight. While sitting in the Brazen head venue you just couldn't help but feel a part of the history. It was a wonderful evening and a great way for all of us to say farewell to a great trip and country!
My sister in law and I did this as a girls trip with my 8 year old daughter. We all enjoyed the evening. Ollie was the presenter and did an amazing job, he has a great voice, and was so great with my daughter. She has been telling people all about her night. It was late at night, so kids any younger than that would probably have a hard time.
I have been to Dublin several times and love the city. I have seen most of the major attractions and was looking for something different. This event is held at the Brazen Head Tavern, ANOTHER oldest pub in Ireland (although they say they are official). Either way, it is a beautiful place full of character. The young lady hosting the evening, Helena, was very engaging, talented and certainly did credit to the legendary Irish talent for storytelling. She is also a very talented singer who tours internationally. The food was very good, my wife who is not a pub grub fan even found something she thought was delicious. The servers were very good and though busy were friendly, accommodating and in the spirit of the evening. Overall, it was a great time, wonderful show, in a fantastic atmosphere. I even managed to learn some things which for me is saying something.
This was the last thing we did before going back home. It was great. The story teller comes out and gives a rundown of the evening. The meal is three flaverfull courses with stories between. The beauty of the discussion is that it explains the Irish history well. I would go back for the lesson again. The oldest pub in Dublin is downstairs. Between 2 courses there is good Irish music.
It was surprising and i really had a great moment!
I recommend this attraction for all visitors but also for irish people!
We had a very good night here. Definitely the best part of our trip to Dublin. Great food and atmosphere, the time flew by and the storytelling was educational as well as entertaining.
