“Great budget friendly and clean!”
Reviewed November 24, 2012

Stayed here for 2 nights and was very impressed. For the price it is extremely good value for money, with clean linen, free breakfast and very good free wifi. It is a converted hotel with a modern looking, comfortable and friendly common room with staff that clean up after untidy guests, by doing dishes and sweeping constantly. Desk manned 24/7 with really helpful people. Bathrooms in rooms clean and functional. Definitely stay here. Also free tea and coffee!

I LOVED THIS HOSTEL. This was my first stop in Europe and I got so spoiled here that the rest of the hostels I went to seemed terrible compared to Abigails. It is definitely a young person hostel. Average age was early 20s. There were big parties in the lobby on the weekend nights, which were actually kind of fun. Staff is attentive and nice. They're always there. PERFECT location. You literally can't get a better location in Dublin. Turn around and you're at Temple bar. Rooms have a view of the River Liffey and the Ha'Penny bridge. Beds are EXTREMELY comfortable for a hostel. Wi-fi worked perfectly. Lockers are reasonably priced (3EURO for 24 hours), breakfast is included, rooms are pretty big, your room gets your own bathroom. PERFECT 2 nights here. Couldn't have asked for more. Definitely recommend.

Room Tip: Get a room overlooking the River Liffey. Not too loud and has a great view.

I've been in a number of hostels during my trips to Dublin and looked for some place that could combine good location, warm reception, clean rooms, working wi-fi and basic facilities like en-suite showers and well-equipped kitchen. And I think that I completed my search. Abigail's is located perfectly in the heart of Dublin, it can be easily found without GPS coordinates and other hints, it can be accessed 24 hours (no "please inform us if you like to arrive after 10pm" or anything like that). They accept credit cards, have a separate storage room for your luggage, and, yes, beds were cheap: last time I spent two nights in a 8-bed dorm alone for 12 EUR per night (mid-week November, low season). The kitchen was small but nice and they kindly allowed me to use it once when I was so busy in the city that completely forgot about getting any food and returned to the hostel at about midnight :) Their breakfast is better than basic (comparing to other hostels; e.g. they offered boiled eggs, seemed rather unusual to me). Wi-fi was free and worked not only in common areas but in dorms too. SuperValu food store is just a minute away from the hostel door on the same street. Abigails may be not anything special but IMHO it deserves recommendations as a very nice place to stay in Dublin.

My friend and I stayed here recently for a gig. We booked two beds in a three bed dorm and ended up with it to ourselves which was great! In summary:
Great location
Friendly staff
Ok facilities
Good rooms
BUT- Finding loads of hairs stuck all over bedding? Not cool.
It's a brilliant location though so for a short stay I would recommend it.

Amazing location, only a 2min walk from all the bars, shops and local attractions.
Very clean hostel with excellent staff, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great, and unlimited nutella. Yummy.
Towels to hire cheaply and luggage storage for early arrivals makes this a fantastic place to be.
Truly awesome experience.
