Abigails Hostel

I went to Abigails in the first week of September with three friends. We slept in a 8-persons-dormitory. The dormitory was really clean, and the staff was helpful and friendly.
We used the description we got when we booked how to get from the bus station to the hostel, it is very well explained. Breakfast is good, but don't expect too much...
We had a blast at Abigails, and we can recommend this to anyone.

We chose Abigails Hostel because of its central location in the heart of Dublin, across the road from Dublin's Liffey River. On arrival the young blond receptionist was very helpful and professional. Our room was clean, with a great hot shower over a bath. Breakfast was very adequate with a choice of 4 cereals, orange juice, toast and jam and tea and coffee. We found it a bit noisy, which was to be expected, as it is very close to the very interesting and well known area of Temple Bar. On the ground floor there is a communal kitchen and large dining/lounge room where you can sit and relax, watch TV or have access to the internet. A supermarket, and various bus stops are close by and banks just around the corner. From this hostel you are able to visit all the tourist attractions, even the gaol if you like a bit of a walk.

Have just returned from four nights in Abigails. Excellent location, 30 seconds from Temple Bars, but in a location that blocks out most of the noise from the area. Breakfast is good, just watch out for noisy Frenchmen! Great if you're in Dublin for a party and are going to be getting back late, not so much if you need lots of sleep

Abigails is very central as it lies right on the quays by Temple Bar. The rooms are not too bad but the bathrooms don't get cleaned as often as they should be and therefore stink up the whole room. The staff are very friendly and helpful however. They do have wi-fi which is nice and a nice big telly in the common area. The breakfast they serve is healthy and good as well. The kitchen area is large and people are usually good about cleaning up after themselves. Personally I wouldn't stay here again just because of the noise and dirt factor but if you're young enough, I suppose you wouldn't care all that much.

Abigails is one of the best hostels I've stayed in anywhere in Europe. Stayed with 5 friends and had a excellent time. Hostel really close of all the bars etc of Temple Bar area. The place is clean and the breakfast (which is provided in the price) is really good.

I stayed here a few weeks ago. The room was in a complete mess, there seems to be no rules in this place - if you want to smoke in the rooms, no problem. If you want to yell and scream in the hostel all night that is also ok.

Big piece of advice for anyone staying here: Tell them every morning which room you are in and that you are staying for another night. There was a mix up with one girl's booking while she was there and when she came back in the evening someone was in her bed, her stuff had all been taken to the reception and her toiletries had been thrown out. Pretty horrible thing to have happen on a holiday!

Room Tip: Ask for one with a view!
