“Beautiful food and friendly service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012 via mobile

We had lunch in the Cellar Restaurant today to celebrate our son's graduation. Due to a little mishap outside our control we were quite late, but were still greeted warmly. The set lunch menu at €20/€23 for 2/3 courses plus coffee is great value for the excellent food, four or five choices per course. Each dish had its own individual accompaniments and very tasty sauce. The desserts were particularly nice. I have often eaten in the Cellar Bar, also excellent, but the restaurant was a great choice for the special occasion. Well done and thanks to all for the lovely friendly service.

“Great afternoon for lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2012 via mobile

Met a friend for quick drink pre lunch on Friday but decided to stay for lunch. Menu is pretty simple but for the hotel it's great value. Fresh bread for a nibble and then really well cooked well presented food. Best part was staff and service, a lesson in how to serve and treat customers. Enjoy!!

“Shouldn't be ignored”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 11, 2012

The Cellar would have a lot more attention paid to it if the hotel did not also host Guilbaud's destination dining temple. Sure, The Cellar is not the same, but it is nonetheless an excellent and soothing restaurant that would stand out if there were not a celebrity next door. Very good wine list.

“Superb, simple, well cooked food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 2, 2012

Definitely a favourite. Simple pasta, pesto and parmesan a cut above the rest due to beautifully put-together ingredients. Burger: first time I have had what I asked for - a medium rare burger, meat delicious, fries more-ish. Could eat here permanently if I lived in Dublin!

“Classy elegance”

Not to be outdone, the Cellar restaurant and bar in the underside of the Marrion Hotel offer a unique dining experience in old stone and brick vaulted ceiling rooms. Service is 5-star
