“Would probably try their take away menu next time”
Reviewed November 13, 2013 via mobile

Went here for a family occasion. It was my first visit but had been a long time wanting to try it. The restaurant itself is really nice. They seem to do a good take away trade, with a screened off area with comfortable chairs for those customers as they wait to collect their orders.
Crackers and dips were provided as we looked at the menus and were replenished as two of the group of 6 munched happily. Orders were taken and drinks provided. And here was my first problem. 2.50 euro for a glass of diet coke that was poured from a 2 litre bottle. By my estimation they are charging 15 euro for every 2 litres of soft drinks they serve.
Next problem - at 18 euro per main course I presumed rice would be included. At 2.75 a portion it brings the cost of the main course to just short of 21 euro. Not cheap, but certainly expensive if you count the 8 chunks of chicken in my main dish.
The house wine was nice and probably reasonable enough. The rest of the wine list was expensive.
Will be going for the take away option the next time.

“Very nice food”

We love the food in Vermillion, often bring friends there as well. There starters are big enough portions and they also bring dips and some snack as a courtesy.

“Much improved food in excellent surroundings.”
Reviewed October 11, 2013

First visit in ages, and am delighted to say the food has really improved, not that it was every bad, just bland. We shared the mixed starter it included 2 fab marinated king prawns, chicken, beef, samosa and the only bland item the Onion Bhaji. We were both blown away by the tastes overall. I ordered 2 vegetable sides for my main, the spicy potatoes and Chana Masala both excellent, no complaints there. My friend had the Biryani, it was just a little dry, could have done with extra sauce - which is usual with this dish. However we did enjoy our food, the service was excellent and I wont be leaving it as long to return.

“Innovation, elegance...and great food”
Reviewed September 20, 2013

Wonderful food, wonderful flavours....and innovative entertainment

Subscribe to Vermillion's Facebook page and you'll be delighted with updates to the menu and regular Jazz musicians that play periodically at the w/e.

The food is just sublime, with service that is genuinely interested in making your evening pleasant and memorable....the fish dishes are amongst the best in Dublin of any cuisine, and the wine list is thoughtfully put together

“Best Indian in Dublin 6”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

This place is upmarket ........ nice white linen tablecloths and napkins, gleaming cutlery and glasses. The staff are friendly and helpful, albeit a little slow on the service. But the food makes up for it. Sumptious!
