“Beautiful Wedding Venue”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2013 via mobile

Was here for a wedding reception last Summer, and absolutely loved this venue! It helped that the weather was lovely, so we spent most of the evening outside, even for the meal. The food was informal, at the request of the couple, but everything was delicious. Would love to try the restaurant now.

“Alas, what a disappointment”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2013

We arrived at this charming place full of excitement about what promised to be a top rate meal. Sadly, it didn't pan out. Our "sharing plate" came with 4 tiny pieces of bread to be used on 4 slices of meat, hummus, oil, and a dip - it was advertised as "breads" with dips, charcuterie, etc.
Our mains were mixed - the lamb was good, as were the chips. However, the pork was extremely dry and tasteless, and the samphire had been oversalted and undercooked so that little sticks of it literally had me choking. All the items were overly "cute" - a dab of squash topped by a tiny potato and then a leek, for example.
The desserts were unappetizing - everything had to go just a bit too far with odd ice-cream flavors etc. We took a miss, even though we'd looked forward to dessert.
All this took nearly TWO HOURS to get, and nobody asked why we left food on our plates or if we'd enjoyed ourselves. I hate to rain on your parade folks who love this place. Maybe it's good for events, but FORGET the individual dinner.

Thank you for your review. We actually don't season our samphire, the salt is entirely from the vegetable itself. We don't have this vegetable on as a side dish, as it can be a little overwhelming so we were surprised when you requested it.
It was a real pity that you didn't try our dessert as they are sensational, all handmade.

“A Great Place for a Great Wedding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

The Beaufield Mews hosted our wedding late last April and the combined efforts of all the staff and management made it a fabulous day that was really enjoyed by all, especially the wedding couple.
Sarah, John and Julie went out of their way to ensure that everything we wanted was in place, right down to allowing us to have our dog with us for the day. The ceremony was handled very well; the music organised between John and Sarah and the food magnificent and very generously portioned.
We had a party of 40 for the meal joined by another 60 afterwards and the venue could accommodate the band as well. The location is very central with loads of parking and gardens are wonderful and a lovely backdrop. Hats off and thank you to the Beaufield Mews. You gave us a great day. Cliodhna and Ciaran

“Amazing wedding day June 2013”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2013 via mobile

Thank you to everyone at Beaufield mews for an amazing wedding day. Sarah's advice and attention to detail was so helpful and both Sarah and Julie went to great efforts to ensure everything was in place. All of the staff were friendly and professional and contributed to the wonderful atmosphere. We had a pig on spit and BBQ in the garden. The pig was a massive hit and the quality of all the food was exceptional. Loads of guests commented that it was the best wedding they had ever been at and we could not have asked for more. It was a wonderful day. Thanks so much.
