I had an awful meal here and there where fruit flies constantly flying around our heads. Will never go back!

“A SUPER START TO THE NEW YEAR”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 3, 2013

We fell upon Hugo's while walking around Dublin on 29th December and discovered that they would be open on 1st January. We booked a table and were delighted with what we found when we turned up. The food was delicious ( check out the scallops , the pate and the creme brulee) and the service was very pleasant. The whole experience was delightful and very good value for money. One minor watchout is that, in common with some other restaurants in Dublin, Hugo's does NOT have a licence to serve spirits ( wine only,) so anyone wanting , say a gin and tonic before dinner will have to settle for a Kir Royal or similar instead ( not really a hardship when the food is so good!!)

Our second time to eat here and again a lovely meal . Very relaxed and warm with great quality food served at a relaxed pace . Great value lunch menu with Soup and a wrap . Would definitely recommend and return again whilst in Dublin .

“New Year's Eve 2012.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 1, 2013

They did a fine and friendly job to accommodate us last minute on crowded New Year's Eve. The food was fresh, nicely prepared amd presented and with very tasty sauces. Not usual Irish fare. I would return.

“Excellent bistro in central Dublin”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 28, 2012 via mobile

I recently visited Hugo's for a meal on a busy party night
We got our table exactly when promised which is an achievement in itself considering we were a second sitting
The staff were calm and the service was excellent
We were given a restricted table d'hôtel menu but in our party of seven there was no problem ordering for anybody
The venison I had was more reminiscent of what you get in much more expensive restaurants in the vicinity
The wine list is extensive and not over priced
we will certainly revisit when in Dublin
