We stayed at Lough Eske Castle for two nights during our trip across Ireland. The accommodations were absolutely beautiful and the staff was extremely friendly. Our room was extremely clean and spacious. The décor was classic and tasteful. We also ate at the hotel our first night and the food was unparalleled in the area. We ate breakfast both mornings and could not have been more impressed with the selection and preparation. The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. The grounds are also quite beautiful and I would recommend a stroll around the gardens. The artwork is just spectacular. I have recommended Lough Eske to others traveling in the area and we certainly make reservations for our next stay in Donegal.

Such an incredibly beautiful hotel. Probably the nicest we've stayed in. It was like a dream setting. castle on a lake. The room was spectacular! The grounds and sculpture was amazing. Great art collection in the hotel. This would be a wonderful setting for a wedding. The restaurant was good- breakfast and dinner. The location was out of this world- tucked away in the woods.

Well, we found our little bit of paradise. This was our second stop on an eight day tour of Ireland, but first in our hearts. Service, food and room all 'five star'. Our room was the highlight of our stay, as it was spacious, comfortable and luxurious. There was a huge bathroom with an equally large tub. It is evident from the moment you enter the hotel that the staff is professionally trained in the art of true customer service. We engaged with the bellman, front desk restaraunt and maintenance staff. We were treated as if we were the only guest in the hotel.

An experience everyone should share, it is a such a beautiful hotel! We stayed 2 nights B&B in August in one of the garden suites, its was a beautifully comfortable room with loads of space with doors opening onto the lovely garden and just directly across for the swimming pool. The breakfast in the hotel was gorgeous, with loads of choice. I would defiantly recommend this hotel to everyone, and i hope in the near future i will get to experience it again.

We went to Lough Eske Castle at the end of Oct 2013 with our dog and our 6 x year old. We had a garden room - with its own entrance - which was lovely. We were delighted to be able to bring our dog - and certainly the grounds are fantastic for walks - and weather permitting - the dog experience is a very positive one. We found the standards in the hotel to be very high. Food and service is excellent. Breakfast was particularly good - and we had pancakes and kippers on different days - which were delicious. The staff in this hotel are extremely efficient and friendly in an understated way (not a criticism).
All in all the hotel is very quite, sedate and reserved. There were many couples, old, medium and young - and the hotel is perfect for a very quiet romantic break.

We brought our child - and there wasn't much for him to do. We had hoped for some Halloween activities but understandably with so few children about - there weren't any.

So...my recommendation is not for families -but if you want a romantic trip for 2 -or a gathering of adults - business or pleasure - this is a fine hotel for it.

Room Tip: We stayed in a garden room - and it was nice - not much wardrobe space i.e. space for hanging - but very limited on drawers for other items. Nice bathroom. Didn't see any of the rooms in the main hotel - but somehow or other - I think I would prefer a room in the main building.
