“magnificent in every way”

I cant describe how wonderful our stay at lough eske castle was. I took my girlfriend there for a night as a valentines gift and as impressed as i am with the hotel, my girlfriend was left speechless. The hotel was beautiful, modern in every way you could want yet stunning in its old style charm with all the new buildings keeping as true as possible to the old castles feel. The room was superb, spacious and luxurious with the finest of furniture. The staff were totally professional, courteous and polite. No request was too much for them. One member of staff called michael was particularly helpful and a true asset to the hotel. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, we were treated as vip's. we ate in the gallery bar and the quality of food was faultless. I would highly recommend Lough Eske Castle hotel to anyone, its a truly special experience and i can't wait to return. A huge thank you to all at the hotel

This really was an excellent place. The staff were so helpfull and friendly (without seeming to be putting it on) The food and service when eating and at the bar were also top notch. It's not cheap to eat and drink but then it's a five star hotel. The whole ambience in the castle part of the hotel was very authentic and relaxing with wooden floors and real fires. The spa facilities should not be missed but the real gem was the bedroom. Soo large, comfortable and with a definate WOW factor, but note that the bedrooms in the outlying part of the hotel away from the castle whilst also excellent are not quite so impressive. My only gripe was that the toilet cystern was very slow to fill and in a friends room it ran all night. Normally I would not mention this but then it is five star and the rest of it is so excellent.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the old castle part of the hotel not the outlying buildings

This is the hotel we would go back to again and again. it was exceptional for service, value for money and sheer luxury. We used the spa, had treatments enjoyed meals and we coudl find no fault. The bedrooms we were given were outstanding and the views were exceptional. we enjoyed the walks in the area. we had a three year old with us and the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. wish all hotels were like this !

Room Tip: suitable for families or couples all rooms were excellent,

Have visited Solis many times to visit and lunch and stayed for the first time in Feb-2012. We got a great deal on Travelzoo and I appreciate may not have loved it just as much had we paid full whack. Granted on top of the 1 night 2 ppl B&B deal and 1 meal for £95 we paid an additional 100euro on food and at the bar but it was all worth it for us. Thoroughly relaxing break, food excellent, breakfast about 7/10 for me (everything smoked) Spa 9/10 and lacking the 1 because you have to go outside to access it. Ensuite bathrooms had heated floor which was totally lush. All in all peaceful and relaxing and will definitely go back (when we get another voucher deal!!)

Room Tip: Request one near reception - near the pool is a trek!!

An excellent stay at Lough Eske Castle - only stayed one night but honestly felt that we had been away for 2/3 nights. Stunning location and lovely room with 4 poster etc, and service and staff were superb throughout restaurants, bars and hotel. Can't wait to return.

Had a great stay, only let down was the room didn't appear to be serviced to the standards you would expect from a five star hotel. The coffee and sugar hadn't been replenished. The hanky box was empty. The toilet roll holder was broke. Walls in the toilet were grubby as were the glass shower doors, with strains and fingerprints on them. The magnifying mirror was faulty with thumb prints on it. In all I expected perfection and this let the hotel down in my opinion.
