This was our 5th visit to Add na Breaths which is situated just outside Donegal town with lovely views of the Bluestack mountains. We originally discovered Ard na Breatha when we were looking for somewhere we could bring our dog Tyson with us for a weekend break in Donegal. There is a quiet lane beside the guest house which is perfect for early morning or evening walks with your dogs. The rooms are spacious and well furnished and maintained to a high standard and are all available to guests with pets unlike some establishments which only let certain rooms to guests with pets.

The guesthouse had only just reopened after the winter break and it was nice our room had the heat on before our arrival
Unfortunately on this occasion the restaurant was not open, however , Theresa very kindly not only recommended us the Restaurant st Castle Inn upstairs but reserved us a table. It is small touches like these which makes Ard na Breatha a special place to stay.

We have previously dined in the restaurant at Ard na Breatha which is excellent but does not open until after Valentine's Day and then only for the weekends until the summer season.. The chef is Theresa`s husband who combines running the farm with producing lovely delicately flavoured cuisine from locally sourced produce. If you are staying at Are na Breatha you should not miss the opportunity to dine in the restaurant. Indeed the cuisine in the restaurant is of such standard to justify visiting Ard na Breatha by itself. Certainly it is the best guesthouse cuisine we have ever had. The breakfast also does not disappoint with a wide a range of choices.

So if you like good cuisine and to travel with your pets Ard na Breatha is well worth a visit as Theresa and her team will do their utmost to ensure their guests whether they have two legs or four legs have an enjoyable stay.

Breakfast superb; Theresa (the owner) was very helpful with recommendations for restaurants, sightseeing (daytrip planning). The rooms are clean and quiet! in the evening relaxing atmosphere at the bar in front of the fire place - we had a great time!!! Thanks Theresa

Dear Guest, Thank you very much for posting your lovely review. October is not the best time for Holidays, I always worry about my guests regarding what to do , the weather etc. but this year it was quite lovely. The autumn colours and the sunshine most days made it magical and made me want to shout about it, and bring guests to Ireland for the fall something we never see advertised for this part of the world.Im so glad you both enjoyed your time here and it really was a pleasure to meet you both. Kind regards Theresa

My wife & I, in conjunction with 2 friends, had a two night break at the above location. Guest House undersells the quality of the location, the proprietors & their staff are extremely, friendly, helpful & informative. We enjoyed an excellent breakfast on both days & a very good evening meal on our last night. All rooms are very well appointed. The property is an easy 10 minute walk into town or a short & inexpensive taxi ride

Dear Guest, thank you for your lovely positive review. We are ideally situated to Donegal Town, on a lovely quiet country road yet just a ten to fifteen minute walk to the town centre along the pathway where there is no cars. Due to what they call progress you now have to drive through a housing estate for part of the way but from the by pass bridge to our home it is all countryside with a lovely quiet cul de sac beyond. It was a pleasure to meet you all and I wish you all a safe journey home. kind regards Theresa
