i found the staff were not really bothered and the building its self was boring just a few rooms with tables and stuff hanging on the walls a few narrow stair cases and that's about it was a real bore for me and my partner don't think i'd go back in a hurry.

The tour guide was very well informed, and portions of the castle have been restored, although it is lacking in furniture, some interesting displays, but generally speaking, would only visit if you were already in town and it was convenient. Wouldn't go out of my way to visit it. The tour was about 3 pounds per person.

I was with a party of 12 (hen party weekend) and we had lunch at 'The Castle'. Although we didn't book we were all able to sit together. We all chose something different from the menu and everyone enjoyed their lunch. I can highly recommend The club sandwich with chips!

This was a castle owned by the O Donnell clan who were the principal gaelic clan in Donegal. The tour guide was pleasant and most informative. This castle has undergone much refurbishment and renovation during its turbulent existance over many centuries but some of the original structure remains in place. As you would expect a stiff climb up narrow stairs is necessary so buggies are out.The ancient banqueting hall still has its original fireplace even though many of the other fixtures are not originals. There is no problem taking photos if you wish to do so.This is a great place to visit to relive what life was like hundreds of years ago for one of the ancient gaelic clans and you can then step out to a nearby restaurant to have some food or just a cup of tea.
