This nice hotel is the heart of Donegal town and it's like being in the centre of the world. The hotel is indeed in front of the Diamond, the central square of Donegal, and opposite the bus stop, which also is the central bus station. It is quite a big hotel which also has a pub and a fine restaurant and live music every night!
The hotel itself it's a sort of flashback of a glorious past, it is or was very elegant, but the details are now a bit neglected.
There's peace and silence, the rooms on the back have a view on the river, it's more like being suspended somewhere than on holidays!
The only two things we did not like were the shower in the first place and the breakfast in the second place.
The shower was not a shower really, there were consecutive drops...nothing more than that.
And the breakfast basically was Irish breakfast, with bacon, beans, eggs and all the rest. The only alternative were cereals with a bit of milk.
The average age of people staying there was something between 70 and 80, but it is really a lovely place to be.More
