We stayed in 6 different B&B's during our trip to Ireland, and this was definitely my favorite! We drove through winding tree-canopied roads and just when we thought we were completely lost, we came upon the charming sign and handsome gate leading us down to Rhu Gorse. The house itself is very nice, filled with antique, classy and subtle charm. It radiates calm. Our room was perfect -- antique furniture and a very comfy bed. But, it's the view that took my breath away! Look out any window, even the bathroom window and you'll see stunning scenery including horses! Grainne was a bit shy but very polite and gave us what I would consider gourmet breakfasts in a dining room overlooking the view. Can't wait to return! You would love it.

Rhu Gorse is in an idyllic location on Lough Eske, just north of Donegal Town. The location is beautiful and the rooms are very comfortable. My family and I felt very welcome in Grainne's home, and will definitely be back on a future trip to Donegal! I highly recommend this B&B if you want to tour a more remote part of Ireland.

My wife and I spent three wonderful nights at the Rhu Gorse B&B, which is located about 5 miles north of Donegal on the west shore of Lough Eske. The location is convenient for travel all over the county. The room was very nice and the hospitality was excellent. The rooms overlook the lake and the view was breathtaking and changed with the weather. The finest dinner that we had in Ireland was at a nearby guestouse, the Ard Na Breatha. The dining room was beautifully and tastefully decorated. The dinner was wonderful and well presented. We also ate at the Abbey Hotel and the Pier Restaurant, which were Ok.

Rhu Gorse is situated in one of the most beautiful locations in Ireland. The dining room overlooks Lough Eske and the scenery is quite spectacular. The rooms are extremely comfortable and clean, the staff so friendly and welcoming and the food excellent. The B&B is also close to the award winning Harvey's Point Hotel, and having stayed in both, I would recommend staying in Rhu Gorse and dining in the restaurant of the hotel. I cannot recommend it highly enough and cannot wait to return for another visit.
