This little B&B was a delightful surprise as just came across it by accident! Just outside Donegal town, you still have easy access (5-10 mins drive) to all the restaurants and entertainment of the town but the location feels like you are in the middle of countryside! The view of Lough Eske from the windows of the B&B are stunning and the rooms are beautifully decorated, huge and spotless. We visited on the coldest Easter on record but we did not even notice as the heating in the room kept us lovely and cosy. I couldnt recommend this B&B more highly!

Room Tip: I presume all rooms have the view of the lake we had as the house is wide but just check to be sure!

we, husband and wife from germany, just returned from a wonderful three-night-stay at the arches, we choosed it for the good rewies at tripadvisor and it was a perfect stay.
we had room no. one; the room is spacious and it was very clean. the view from the room out over lough eske is fantastic. we had a drive round to the lough eske and we traveld around two famous accommodations: lough eske castle and harvey`s point. we think you cannot find a room like room no. one in the arches (some other rooms have the same good view) in this two accommodations, where you can sit in such comfortable chairs with this view to the lough eske.
we had a very comfortable sleep in a quite surrounding, the beds are clearly of a high standard as are the bedding.
noreen, the hostess, is unaffacted and very helpfull. she also is a first rate cook. we had the french toast, the kippers, the cheese omelette and the scrambled eggs with bacon: perfect!!
the house is just a short drive out of donegal-town; eat at the old castle bar, a tip from noreen-very good!
we really enjoyed our stay here; it was perfect for our golf-break!!

A lovely B&B in a beautiful setting. Unfortunately we only stayed one night, arriving in the dark, and setting off early the next morning so we really could not take in, from what we saw in the morning, the magificent surroundings. The rooms were beautifully appointed and breakfast was excellent. Situated 5 to 10 minutes from Dongegal we came in from Derry and the GPS took us "cross country", a typical Irish route my son would say. I would recommend that you ring and get directions, eg relevent directions from where to turn off from the N15 and from there to the House. When you can see something that you recognize it makes it much easier.

Located on the edge of Donegal in a beautiful country setting this gracious two storey residence offers very well appointed rooms and lovely breakfasts all set in lovingly tended gardens and with views across the garden and paddocks opposite down to Lough Eske a superb lake. The McGinty family are gracious hosts as one has come to expect in Ireland. On their advice one can drive around the lake to Harvey's Point Resort Hotel and enjoy an excellent meal in surroundings resembling a scene out of The Great Gatsby. All in all a great experience

I was fortunate enough to find this B&B on Trip Advisor and booked it for our trip in October 2012. It was the reviews I read here that convinced me we needed to stay. I hope I can convince others it is a perfect spot if you are in Donegal.

Four of us stayed here for three nights and enjoyed every minute of it. The rooms were beautiful and so comfortable. They had everything we needed – and more. And the views from our rooms were outstanding.

But the best part of Arches is Noreen. From the moment we arrived she was helpful, informative and delightful. We spent hours in her lovely cozy breakfast room enjoying not only her delicious breakfasts but her wonderful stories. She graciously allowed us to sit for hours and talk and even joined us for a while each morning entertaining us with hysterical tales of her life in County Donegal. She was full of helpful hints and sent us on some great day trips. And her restaurant recommendations were very helpful – and delicious! She even helped us with a special request one evening – so kind!

I would highly recommend this B&B for anyone visiting the Donegal town area. A quick 5-10 minute drive from town brings you to this beautiful peaceful gem of a B&B with a host who will treat you like a good friend. I know I’ll be back.

We had a wonderful stay with Noreen who gave us the in and outs of the town and surrounding area's to visit. Bathroom was absolutely wonderful, had a brand new large heater which was wonderful as we came in a little damp after hiking to Carrokeel. Noreen was even gracious enought to dry my shoes and do a bit of wet clothes for us. The placement of this B and B is just spectacular overlooking the lake. Minutes to downtown Donegal Town.

Room Tip: We had a room facing the lake and when you woke in the morning the fog and mist coming off the lake...
