This is probably the most beautiful Of the many B&Bs we have stayed at in out 4 extensive visits to Ireland. Located just off beautiful Lough Eske, it is the ideal spot for day tours to so many amazing scenic attraction in County Donegal. Easy access to the pubs in nearby Donegal town, and to exquisite dinning and shows at nearby Harvey Point Hotel and Lough Eske Castle. Large modern rooms. Noreen is a fabulous hostess. We can't wait to return!!

It is difficult to add further value to the many complimentary reviews of The Arches. As someone who spent a number of years ’in the business’ letting out a holiday country cottage, what struck me was the very high standard of the accommodation, the amount of effort that must be invested in the beautiful garden, the well-presented breakfasts and the obvious careful planning to make the overall experience enjoyable.

For evening meals in Donegal, there is an excellent little Italian Restaurant, La Bella Donna, in Castle Street. We also ate in ‘Dom’s’ in Quay Street – mediocre and poor service – sea bass tasteless, which perhaps explains the overpowering sauce it drowned in - and the Guinness was ‘thin’.

However, I digress! If, like me, you want to turn up at an unknown B&B and be guaranteed a VFM, relaxing, trouble free break in beautiful surroundings, then The Arches is for you.

Spent 2 days at Arches B&B while touring Ireland with my father - truly excellent. We had a large spacious room with a great view of Lough Eske - clean, modern and comfortable. Quiet location for a country stroll through some great scenery or just relaxing on the patio and enjoying the view. Breakfast was great - wonderful service too - our host even arranged a taxi for us to town for a night of fesitivities! Definitely would go back.

The best things about the Arches are the spacious and well-kept rooms, and the view over the lake. As soon as you drive in and see the garden, you can tell that Noreen takes great pride in ensuring the b&b is kept in great condition. Everything from the exquisite cups and saucers to the extensive breakfast menu were very much to our liking. It's only 10 mins drive from Donegal, and includes a short drive around the lake to reach it - the tranquillity and peace at the Arches made the drive worth it, much better than staying in town. It's best to contact Noreen direct, rather than paying the 10% admin charge via the online booking system. Enjoy!

We had a wonderful stay here -- the room was very large, had a beautiful view of the lake, was extremely clean, and overall was just perfect. It's a bit outside of Donnegal Town, but it was nice to get outside the towns and to such a beautiful location. One of the best B&Bs we stayed at during our trip...highly recommend!

My husband, friend and I spend a night in this outstanding bed and breakfast.

This has got to be one of the best bed and breakfasts in all of Ireland.

The rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean and well appointed.

The bathrooms are wonderful with oversized showers.

Noreen is friendly and helpful and her breakfasts take some beating in terms of presentation and variety of food.

The house is set in a beautiful location, overlooking Lough Eske and the outstanding manicured gardens are a joy to behold.

My only regret is that I did not stay longer. I am looking forward already to my return visit.
