We happened upon Dawros Bay House quite by chance and were most greatful that we did! We were following the road from Portnoo and Narin heading towards Glenties where we were planning on having a bite to eat, when we saw the sign. We decided to give it a whirl and drove down in to find a lovely large house with superb views across the bay. Ample seating was available outside and as the sun was shinning, we took a bench! We ordered the prawn and mussel bisque with wheaten bread. After about 15 minutes it arrived and was worth the wait. Packed with mussels and prawns, with fresh dill, it was delicious and hearty. The menu also provided Donegal lobster and an extremely delicious sounding steak!
We will definately be recommending to our friends and will also definately return when we are back in the area.

Joe and the rest of the family and staff went beyond the call of duty to host my 30th birthday at the Dawros bay on saturday 14th September 2013. We had a delicious seafood bbq cooked by Joe himself, with plenty of guinness and a fantastic atmostphere with the infamous band "The Black Stuff" creating an amazing atmosphere. I couldnt think of another place on earth where i would want to spend my birthday. My Scottish friends who came over absolutely loved it! Thanks very much to the Molloys for a special weekend!

We visited the hotel twice! Both memorable experiences ;) We were on holiday from Australia staying on and off in the beautiful Donegal region. My dad was keen to see the area where the film 'Secret of Roan Inish' was filmed. We ended up staying for drinks and many stories, then revisiting for a wonderful seafood dinner. We thank Maria for her stories and Joe for his great seafood....(I also thank Joe for shouting me an Irish whiskey). We loved our visit and if (I should say when) we are ever in Ireland we'll definitely be back. Thanks guys....'the Aussies' - Tracey, Vince, Jessica and Emily...ps we also thank Conner and the boys from the Donegal football team for the great craic!

This place is off the beaten track but well worth a visit if for the Rosbeg scenery alone - beautiful spot! We had dinner here last night, it has a very homely feel as was evidenced by the dog that was fast asleep on the dining room floor when we were shown to our table, he was promptly coaxed out to alternative accommodation. We had crab cakes to start followed by a half lobster with chips, the cooking is very unpretentious, just good ingredients, well prepared and with delicious results. We retired to the bar afterwards for a few drinks and enjoyed the beautiful view of the bay with some good Guinness, the atmosphere was great and the bar and restaurant in general are just full of character, the dining room in particular feels like someone's sitting room. The staff were attentive and extremely friendly, we didn't have any cash on us and the credit card machine was broken (nearest ATM is approx 30mins drive away), the waitress therefore arranged for us to come back today to pay the tab - further evidence of the relaxed atmosphere that prevails in Dawros Bay House, couldn't recommend it highly enough.
